Thanks for highlighting Mike Zeck, he's one of the all-time best cover artists and I feel he's always been under appreciated :)
I miss these slab videos. It is your Origin Story!
I have spoken.
Love the ‘older’ horror books
I’m loving the Alpha flight. Great color
Yeah those Zeck covers….so good!
Thanks for the grading hints. Especially on older, less well-known books. Nice!
Love the energetic vibe you both bring keep up the good work
I Enjoy Your Show. I Started Collect When I was a Kid. I Got Some Expensive Books. I Don't Have Alot of $$ to Get Them Clean. Thanks for the info on Comics. Take Care
Y’all always have such cool books!
Thanks...appreciate the grading tips ! Helps me assess my books value....so thanks a bunch 👍
$1500 for all those pedigrees was worth it! I see asm 252 behind you, cgc 9.8 newsstand. I bought two copies after school as the magazine guy was leaving 7-11 and picked the best looking books. Had them graded four years ago and both got 9.8. Still in my pc!
love this episode.
I love the grading exercises. That’s the kind of thing that you can never be perfect at but always have to practice!
So true!
Great editing, helpful info, great content! 👏👏
Thanks Bry! I watch all of your stuff!
Great books 🔥🔥
Looks like you and I were in the same auction. I picked up a few pedigrees as well, though...I saw and grabbed the Mark Jewlers inserts.
All Winnipeg pedigree books from where I live in Winnipeg Canada.
As always, great video. Power Man is one of my very favorite Marvel heroes but, the series lost its luster for me when he teamed with Iron Fist. Again, that is just me. Loved solo title.
Love the video! Been binge watching you two... You oughta be a part of the MCU.
Thank you Toggly!
Out of a collection of around 2,000 Comics I have slabbed 230 so far. I have learned so much about the grading process and your channel has helped me so much. Thank you I think I saved a little money in the process. Ultimately, I would like to trade the collection for some really nice ECs from the 50s. Wally Wood,Frank Frazetta, Al Williamson, Bernard Krigstein,-need I say more?
9.4 to 9.6 are great grades for books that old. Nice pedigree collection.
A very nice grouping of pedigree books. Thank you for posting and for your information on grading.
That pair of Worlds Unknown reminds me of the reason why (and time frame when) I quit buying new comics. Not too long after publication of your early-70's Worlds Unknown issues, those intrusive UPC boxes began to appear at the lower left front cover. I think it was 1976. I thought that garish addition really diminished the impact of a lot of the best cover art (and, well, really ... all cover art). Imagine for a moment Silver Surfer # 4 with a UPC bar on the cover. Anybody like it better with the code bar? Yikes! I remember reading somewhere at the time that the UPC code was placed on the front cover, rather than the back cover, because of the value to the publisher of the back cover as advertising space. I was, what? Disheartened? Ticked off? I dunno, but I stopped buying new comics over just that issue.
I can relate! I used to pass on newsstands because I didn’t like the way they looked. Can you imagine if they put a UPC on something like swamp thing 1 or some of the other crazy good covers from the 70s? It would be a crying shame.
Very cool pedigree books! I havent come across any but will keep an eye out thanks for the knowledge.
Severin/War Is Hell looks like a Robert Williams painting. Williams though is far better.
NIce buy at $1500.
Great video as always!
I would love to know what products you use to remove gel pen.
Another great video. Love the Bronze Age books you show off. I’d be interested in your thoughts on double covers and if you come across them for this era. Maybe good for a video. Keep up the good work! ✨
Hey, I'm from Winnipeg. Didn't know there was a pedigree.
Isn't Silver Age designated by the comic community/media/catalogs as being from 1956-1969?
Yes.
Those pedigrees are awesome! Are you selling the Daredevil?
I’m not sure yet. I’ll probably keep it for a while.
I have to ask, being a new collector, what does Pedigree mean in a comic book?
A pedigree is a collection of comic books that comes to market that has been deemed exceptional by a few specific standards. In many cases they are original owner collections, there are more than 5000 books and they are high grade. Pedigree’s typically have qualities such as white pages, glossy covers, etc. and at times are the best examples of the books.
There is more information on the CGC website.
Hi do u have a store number or phone? Thk Great collection..
You shaved off your beard! 😮
That was going to be my first comment as well. I thought the beard looked good. I am partial as I have a beard. Can't grow it on my head. You don't seem to have that problem. 😂
