only mode 1-2-3. i cant wait days for firmware!! Heres to all my fellow mode 4 pilots!
its dead easy! 6 cables and youre good to go! or better de pin and replace non solder!

We gotta do something to help mode 4 pilots in the fpv community, challenge accepted and complete :D worlds first dji fpv drone mode 4 pilot.... maybe XD
I followed your tutorial to open the radio controller, then I did not cut the lines or do any soldering.
I just removed the 6 yaw threads and rolled into the spindle and reversed the connections.
Now I have my mode 4, thanks for your video again

Done. Works perfect here. I did need to recalibrate the sticks to get rid of the "stick error" message in the goggles. Everything fits my needs now. So thankful! Thx a lot buddy 😊

3 years later,still no firmware update that has mode 4, so it was good idea not to wait XD
haha yeah. but you seen RC 3? its even worse! gonna keep my lovestick for avata 2 only
@@Just4FunRC Well, It doesn't have the antenna and the radiator so it is easier to put new cables XD
But it is a mistery- for so many years, so many requests and complains and still nothing. I have bought the controller, learned to fly on Uncrashed simulator to find out there is no mode 4, the one I have learned XD So the only solution for me is to reroute the signals or relearn the controlls which would take around 60 hours ;)
I if you take the pins out of left side they will reach the right side yurt swap out to do the other side you have to extend and join wires worked fine thanks for the video

Hi there, I did the mod and everything with the sticks is working however the dial that controls the gimbal at the top left of the control isn’t working at all? What should I do? I tried to calibrate the controller with the goggles and the sticks are working but the dial movement doesn't even register? Help!

New to the channel. Have you always flown mode 4 or was it something you just wanted to do just for fun
i started on mode 2(didnt know what it was at that time) as i was yelled to do so :P it didnt feel right didnt gave up on first month but then.I messed with the sticks flipped yaw and roll. this was perfect for my brain XD dunno might be because awsd keyboard + mouse gamer .some months after i learned that there was something called "Stickmodes" and why i couldnt do any tricks, AHA I was a mode 4 pilot and all tutorials was on mode 2. but yes also Mode 4 is awesome because its diffrent XD i like being diffrent hehe have a nice weekend FPVGirl

Hey Just4Fun RC, I bought the Dji Avata a few weeks ago. Makes ultra fun with the Joysick, but I thought I also want to do Cliffs Dive xD. That's why I bought the Dji FPV Controller 2. In the Simualtor I quickly realized that I can not fly so, but unfortunately I found no mode 4. With the support written, but unfortunately still no answer. Since I stumbled on your video, really great work :P. Now my question, have you heard regarding mode 4 an update from Dji and if not what I would need everything for the conversion as you have done? because I see in the video you cut the Cabel.

Hia buddy. well we asked DJI when this transmitter was first released public. or for a costom stick mode. nada nothing.
today still nothing. since the release of this transmitter. i have converted 6 of these to mode 4. replaced gimbles, batteries, heatsink etc :) all in all its just plastic and metal put together.
what i find easier is just to DEPIN the connectors. the wires are long enough. BUT you might risk busting the pins. so soldering would seem to be an safer option.
tools i use when fixing these are
Philips screw, tweezers, guitarpick/flathead screwdriver/ (to seperate the casing) optional solder/wires/heatshrink. and cup of coffee + norse metal blasting from the speakers :)

@@yvesmattle No worries :) im happy help the fpv community. id realy recommend soldering the wires. basic knowledge of solderings can help you far in the fpv/rc hobbies. and cheaper :)
do little research on soldering and depin before you start anything. as i say "Nothing is impossible, it just takes time"

HelloJust4Fun RC could you advise me how to reverse the trhottle, I drive in mode 2 but with the trhottle reversed as rc helicopters. In the Dji FPV combo "controller pad" system I am disappointed with Dji ... with the Mavic drones you can reverse all channels in the custom stick menu.

@@Just4FunRC HelloJust4, thank you so much, I would be very curious to know how to do it ... these days I opened the controller as per your magnificent video, but you cannot turn the complete throttle lock 180 °, on Futaba radios and etc. always did.
Here I think the only solution is electronically ..... maybe by turning the magnet or something .... I don't know how to drive my DJ FPV.
I drive in mode 2 but with the throttle reversed.
A guide on how to intervene for this serious lack on the part of DJI would be nice. on such a new product, years ago you could easily reverse all your mavic .. old ones ...

should actually end up in the desired Mode 4. The existing
mode 2 is then mode 3 and mode 2 is mode 3. Mode 1 then no

@@Just4FunRC no I meant that when I lower the Pitch, it moves the drone forward and when I raise the Pitch it makes the drone go backwards

hello sr. iam experimenting ghost moves on the yaw axis when y pull down throthle (mode 2) i can se it in the calibration screen on liftof. and i went flying and iam experimenting the same ghost move on yaw axis. any idea? thanks for your time

@@Just4FunRC mi rates are 130/650/0.80. i started to experience this problem on simulator, and then when I went flying i got the same problem than the sim. Yesterday I open up the controller with your video and I used some air to clean, closed up and now it works... pretty strange..any idea what could be? Thanks for your time
@@gonzarb93 hmm as there arnt any physical connection with the hall sensor. there might have been some dirt debree that has prevented the magnetisme firm movement. first thing that pops into my mind. glad it worked for you buddy :D

Hiya, just wondering is it possible to witch the pitch control/wires around so when in manual mode if I press forward/up on the right stick (I fly mode 2 I believe) the aircraft pitches up and if I press down the aircraft pitches down? All the other controls are fine, I just wish I could invert the pitch!

Bad news my friend, it wont. Only the previous DJI transmitter will.

they did do a sneak update. so you couldnt tinker with the hack settings or do a rollback on v2 goggles.

Those aren't potentiometers. They're Hall effect sensors. It might have been possible to swap the small PCBs with the sensor on it. I'm not sure if the wires would have reached far enough to do this.
You can switch which gimbal controls which axes of the drone but I don't think you can reverse the direction of the an axis. I don't think you can swap power and ground on Hall sensors like you can on potentiometers. It might be possible to rotate one of the small PCBs but you'd need to come up with a custom mounting option. It might be easier to rotate the magnet in the gimbal than rotating the sensor.

Thanks for the Heads up :) i like that. on the dji drone you could only do mode 1-2-3 and not 4- as of today thats why i swapped around alittle. even easier i could just depin/repin the connector the wires are long enough
Is there any info when they will add Mode 4, i just bpught the drone and i dont know why they dont give us the choice to fly in mode 4
hia buddy. i contacted them after launch. the only answer i got that they will forward it to the board. nothing more... so my gues is the gentlemen with tight ties and clean fingernails would maybe look into it if theres enough consumers requesting it. and my take is nah. were a special breed ^^, so thats why i have done it myself and love using it for various tasks. roof inspection, supporting red cross when on search and rescue. this drone is a jack of all, master of none :)

@@dertypderhalt i know. i owned a dji mavic before but i cant recal if it was the mavic platinum or air 2. but i was able to costomize the sticks.
anyway its just plastic and metals. and the carefresh was either to expensive or took to long. so i just started to fiddle around and woila. and yes you dont even need to solder. thanks to a viewer for the tip. i tried to relearn mode2 but it just didnt work it was weird and felt all wrong hehe.

I opened mine, didn't even do any changes and now it won't power on anymore...
Brand new? Did it power on before? When you opned it. Did you perhaps hit the pcb or wires, Follow the wires from the batteries. Use multimeter check for shorts. Hope you will get it sorted buddy :) it was a dumb move from dji to not include mode4
@@Just4FunRC Yes, it was rather new and working but I had a problem with my dial wheel, it didn't calibrate. It wiggled a bit so I thought I'll open remote to check it's in right place. I't seemed fine so I closed the RC and no power no more. I't was a dum move trying to fix it by myself, probably shorted out some stuff. I'll have to get my hands on that multimeter but even if I find the problem fixing it is another story. Already ordered new RC from DJI.

I just change the wires for Nick and Pitch and it works. It’s also easy to undo because nothing is damaged.

@@mickyg02 Yes but not good. For normal flying it’s ok but not for Race or Gates. 😂
I just did it that way (switching green, orange and white cable from one joystick to the other) today and switched to "Mode 3" and it works fine!
I also prefer a reversible solution without cutting wires.

And around xmass season you can expect delays ^^, id rather recommend try to find a such a service or a person who can solder in youre local area. Would be much quicker to get back in the air. Could use this vid as a guide. :)
