I rode this same day, but i left Emmetsburg at 6:30 am, so we experienced these towns in a different way. In my videos of these same towns, there are much larger crowds. Also, the sun is at a different angle. It's amazing to think how many people do this ride. I hope you had fun, i know i had a blast this day!!!
What does the red star mean on the miles map? 5:30am on the road is this your normal pattern when your not on this ride? I read the comments and one of the people talked about how starting later made the towns so crowded. I can definitely see the advantage to an earlier start. Eek on the bent derailer. LOVE the idea of ragbrai being a bucket list ride. Noooooo, you lost David....feeling awesome 80 miles down lets do 200....ah, need a beer at the next town. Congrats on another century ride.
Couldn't believe it. At 16:11 that's me passing with my peloton wearing the blue jersey and white arms... we got our fastest century at 4h40m @ 22.2mph average. The conditions couldn't have been better.
That was such an awesome day! Great video
Thanks for sharing! I LOVE RAGBRAI! I have done it twice

It’s just interstate 35. (North or south at this point of iowa). Not 35 W until near Minneapolis when it becomes I-35W or E 😉
