Thank you for sharing all of this. My children and I chose not to celebrate Thanksgiving and to fast and to remember and honor the First Nations. I would love to visit your tribe and Plymouth Rock. I am so sickened and grieved for the atrocities committed against your precious people. You are so resilient and amazing. You all so much to teach us. I honor and respect you all so much. Much love 💕 to all of you.

My family has owned property in the vineyard for over 30 years. I love visiting Aquinnah and Plymouth. I was surprised to see the melanin of the Wampanoag Tribe. I do not celebrate Thanksgiving, but I give thanks to our ancestors and to you. Stay steadfast and never leave your homeland unattended. My last visit resulted in hearing that the youth leave and do not return so the land is being gentrified. Never forget youth, return to your native land.

I am participating in a program "Sacred Ground" that speaks of This land from the time of the arrival of the first colonizers, and also the ships carrying enslaved people from Africa. I will never again celebrate "Thanksgiving" as I have all my life. A day of gratitude ... but never again the "Thanksgiving" that we were taught about in school. My heart mourns with you as I write this, and I am commited on this day; Thanksgiving 2021, to learning all I can about the true history.

I'm surprised how the US has never had a native American president. Also as a non US person, I don't understand how the country celebrates a Holiday based on when they were colonized or taken over by foreigners. In my country we only ever celebrate Independence from colonizers not the day they arrived and got killed by our Datu. It's a weird concept to me.

Some people believe Abraham Lincoln was a copper colored native since he is depicted on a copper colored coin. As well as Alexander Hamilton his mother was west Indian from Nevis island in the Caribbean's before meeting his Scottish duke father. He was then outcasted when he came to the Americas and denied emissions from schools by the Anglican Church for his parents never married. Then, Alexander's mother left her two son Alexander's older brother James Jr. It's said James was dark skinned and was treated as a black man in the colonies. Also, Ben Franklin wasn't Native American but he was an runaway indentured servant.

Knowing that I'm majority European, I'm looking at the real history of what has happened and how we got to where we are. I've been listening and reading a lot about native Americans and also African history... And I can't describe the emotions I feel when I hear your thoughts and feelings, but what can I do? How can I support the voices of truth?

I read on a genealogy program that I’m 13 generations away from being a 1st cousin to Massisoit. I would never have guessed this. I watched many videos about the Wampanoag tribe. I just cried when I figured out that it was my own ancestors that were the people who taught and gave so much to the white people, and yet even now they have not been respected or properly thanked nor credited for how important they have been.
It a very different feeling when you know it’s been your own ancestors, family, and friends that have been so trodden down by the US government. I’m so sorry for how long the USA has treated the indigenous peoples of this country so poorly. At the same time I send respect, love, and support to you. I wish I could’ve changed history. 😢 peace and prosperity to all of you.

You are all amazing young people... I honor everything you had stated... I totally agree and understand the anguish. I feel you deeply. I have just found out at 73 yrs. young that I am part Wampanoag... and so honored to hear this. In my world you have always existed... Native Americans are such truly beautiful people, well to me all people of color are very special to me. Personally I have always had a problem with the white man who caused so many problems and difficulties for all who were not white. There were times I was quite sad to be white... then when I found out I had Wampanoag blood in me, I felt rich. ... I for one would like the truth to be known... Thanksgiving has always to me felt like something was missing. My partner was half Native American... I was proud to be with him, he passed, I miss him every day of my life.... Please know I do feel your trauma... I am not a rich person, I love the indigenous people and would love from my heart to know more and honor you all in my heart...Please, since I can remember I have love all people...and love learning about every ones culture... Well I could go on for ever... I do not want to come across like a nut bag... for I am not... just so proud to hear my news... even though it was late in my life... it has answer a lot of my questions about myself...and the way I have lived my life. Would so love to hear back for someone. I have a book that I read. The Indian Way, it tells full moon stories for each month and other stories in the back... although what I love not only the stories, also the end of each story it says...And the Earth stayed young... peace...

If only the colonists had adopted Native American ways instead of forcing their ways upon them. Then we wouldn't be talking about sustainable living like it's a brand new idea, we'd have been doing it all along. Only honoring the masculine sky spirit and abusing the feminine earth spirit hasn't worked out very well. If each person would give back equal to what they take and then give a little more, we could turn things around and restore balance. Thank you to the young people who spoke on this video. Don't give up, you are the hope of the future.

The story I heard was the first one happened after the pilgrims helped vanquish a neighboring enemy tribe of the Wampanoag, who had enslaved them in the past. It was bloody. It was in celebration of a massacre. But that was not when the treaty was broken between the Wampanoag and the settlers, they stood in battle together. This is mostly based on journals and other historical documents piecing this story together, along with a few scraps of information from the Wampanoag of the day. Anyone that can verify or correct is incredibly welcome

Great to know the truth about Thanksgiving!! Too many people feel African American Slaves were the only ones to suffer!! The native Americans suffered more than any others. Their land was taken away from them, women raped, children slaughtered men made slaves so African Americans weren't the only ones that were slaves. North America Central America + South America were all Indians. Christopher Columbus + his men came here + slaughtered the Indians + took their land!! Central Park in NYC was an Indian Reservation. But this isn't taught in school. It is taught that blacks were slaves but nothing taught re Native Americans which is wrong. In NYC, black Americans think they were only ones who were slaves. This needs to be corrected + proper history should be taught. Why do people in certain parts of the world speak a certain language. It is because they were conquered + made to speak the language of the conqueries!
In Jamaica, they speak English + their language. Why do they speak English because conquered by England. India was also conquered by England. They speak English + other languages but English is their main language!! I wish children were taught proper history so no one would treat others like they're not good enough!! We're all God's children + should be treated as such but many people are bad + cause wars because want to take over other lands + kill × have slaves!!! No one should be a slave!!
We're all equal in the eyes of God!! No one is perfect but we can strive to be better + help each other to be healthy + happy in this world. This is how I feel. More persons should have more respect for others so this world can live in Harmony!!

One very important fact it's overlooked in this discourse about the history of Thanksgiving. It's a lie that the people that came from Europe were pilgrims. Pilgrims are people that are on a religious exploration. These people that came to America were not on a religious expiration. They were Mercenaries higher and sent out by the king of England to find new land that they could occupy and colonialize. As a result, of disease and famine in Europe. So let's stop pretending that mercenaries and pilgrims are synonymous.

    PREACHING IN NYC...
Dear Friend, JESUS Loves you. The 1st Thanksgiving was about How the Indians Help the CHRISTIAN PILGRIM White people so that they would SURVIVE as a people. GODS WORD says that we must Forgive our enemies and Pray for them in the BIBLE.
So that we may Be Blessed and see the KINGDOM. THE BOTTOM LINE is that GOD wants us to also be a BLESSING by being HELPFUL & THANKFUL regardless of the past, & Have Hope for a better future. We must PRAY for the Healing of our NATION in every bad situation so we can make it positive.
Thank God for what is now and Stop dwelling on the past. The fact is that GOD has richly blessed America above and beyond all Nations. Thats why people from everywhere want to come here to have the Benefits of this Great thing that GOD has done for all people. So much that we are the (#1)choice around the world.
That is a GREAT THING. We must all UNITE AS ONE NATION to continue to BE BLESSED. THANK GOD FOR HIS BLESSING UPON SO GREAT A NATION. AMERICA! AMEN!
