I know nothing about such things, but my favorite AoT reactor (Filmbuff) did, and he comments about all of that in his reaction. If you haven't watched him, you may enjoy his take on this episode. I personally appreciated it, while not being a MMA fan.

Yeah. I liked Season 1 when I first saw it; but I was also used to shows that don't explain all things that need explaining, or just give some stuff for granted and never get into it, so I was also exceptic, assuming we would get some half-assed answers and plot holes and stuff ignored... It wasn't until we started getting some answers that I truly understood the masterpiece that is AoT and the fantastic writting of Isayama.

No EreHisu (but I also like EreMika) and no titan shifter reincarnation on royal blood... I also was lowkey sad that one of my theories never came to be (and I was quite proud of that one); but I don't hate on the ending; and I'm sure I will like it even more when it gets animated. Isayama is involved with the anime and has had stuff changed before. I'm not saying he is going to change the whole ending or anything (I know some people would wish for that, Requiem version and what not); but the whole thing may feel better explained in the anime. I don't dislike the ending even if it wasn't all that I hoped for it to be; and I think one of the main problems people have with it is more about its presentation than its content. Sadly ending a story like this gracefully won't ever be an easy task so I'm expecting the ending to be lack luster. That doesn't mean the rest of the story wasn't fun to watch :D every season kinda ends a whole chapter and opens up newer questions. Got a feeling the ending will do the same thing.

It's indicitave of how great the series is as a whole. The world has established rules which set believable limits on what can and what cannot be done. Really makes theorizing for this show fantastic, because you're not expecting some bullshit last minute 'powerup' to come in and save the plot.
They kind of introduce Eren as a take on the stereotypical shonen lead. Someone who's optimistic but flawed, who has high reaching goals, and believes that everything's going to go his way if he works hard enough, and has enough determination. This isn't that type of show. There is no Pirate King and a great and mysterious treasure, there is no Hokage, or even outright acceptance. There aren't wish granting orbs or characters empowered by plot armor and friendship. There is only death and despair, and the desperate struggle for survival. Attack on Titan does an excellent job of deconstructing the standard shonen anime, complete with the deconstruction of the standard hero, as he's torn down by the reality and the cruelty of his world. I could go more into this, but going further down my line of thought here will probably end up in spoiler territory before I'm finished. Needless to say, this is an excellent series that doesn't just break the mold, it shatters it. It isn't perfect, the characterization of some characters could be stronger, especially if we're supposed to care when random people appear to be important, such as the sniffing captain on Levi and Hange's level, die. I can't wait to see what fanfiction can do with it, but I'm too attached to the anime to read the manga, so I'm holding off on getting into either until the final season ends.
Started in episode 1. When Hans comes back to save the family, it looks like he'll either fight this Titan or die nobly and sacrifice himself so the kids can escape. But then he does neither, he just scoops the kids up and runs away. Even Carla looks like she's just going to accept her death prettily and with dignity, and then we see she has to cover her own mouth to stop herself from screaming and selfishly keeping her children around just so she won't die alone. AoT loves to throw in these moments that you'd think would end one way because it's a hot-blooded anime, and then go "nope, when people are terrified they can't just power up for six episodes to take the fear away; they run, they cry, they barf, they get killed senselessly."
19:55 the reason the Colossal didn't move is because he formed from the waist up on top of the wall, he didn't grow any legs. That's why his ribs were cracking on the wall when he fell, it what were supporting him on the wall.
Ya its interesting, I didn't catch that he was half formed the first time either. It took extra viewings to realize that he was half formed. It makes sense when you look at it after the fact. But Bernard is putting all his trust that Reiner will get the job done.

I really REALLY like them, but I don't know if I can agree to that. I have seen over two dozen diferent AoT reactions, and I have many that I really like. They are Top 3 for sure thou... and they aren't even close to done with AoT... So maybe... They are really loveable.

Attack on Titan is incredible because is very real, like life and every time there are suprise. No useless Episodes. My opinion. Hajime Isayama is a genius.

I think it's crazy that anyone would think of them as evil after Reiner's speech before transforming. It's made very clear that whatever they're doing started when they were just naive kids, which suggests they didn't have any real control over the path that led them here. It's people not really paying attention to the story.

Great reaction as always girls! Don't know if anybody mentioned this before, but Reiner is favourite character of Isayama(Shingeki No Kyojin manga author). Mine too since episode 2x6:D
I honestly felt this way on my first watch; seen too many shows that never deliver on their mystery boxes or are filled with plot holes.... I was really liking the show from the very begining, but it wasn't until the answers started comming that I realized this was a masterpiece and Isayama a genius. AoT is now my favorite piece of media of all times; above all other animes, cartoons, shows, videogames or movies... In my eyes, nothing compares. You gotta admit that is amazing how the basement survived the hype and even surpassed expectations.

Mikasa's whole personality is EREH, and her character growth is limited almost not existing. (but i already know she is not a character but a plot device)

I think it's crazy that anyone would think of them as evil after Reiner's speech before transforming. It's made very clear that whatever they're doing started when they were just naive kids, which suggests they didn't have any real control over the path that led them here. It's people not really paying attention to the story.

I honestly felt this way on my first watch; seen too many shows that never deliver on their mystery boxes or are filled with plot holes....
I was really liking the show from the very begining, but it wasn't until the answers started comming that I realized this was a masterpiece and Isayama a genius. AoT is now my favorite piece of media of all times; above all other animes, cartoons, shows, videogames or movies... In my eyes, nothing compares.
You gotta admit that is amazing how the basement survived the hype and even surpassed expectations.

1. ending is ok, could be better but a little bit rushed, but a bigger problem with it is
2. Mikasa's whole personality is EREH, and her character growth is limited almost not existing. (but i already know she is not a character but a plot device)

Don't beat up on yourselves for falling into the cliffhanger trap. The show is so good! It's amazing you ladies can turn off for a while or a day. This is a short season. Try to knock the last 4 or 3 episodes out in one sitting.
