    80 pops well spent. I like these "slicer" knives that can do harder work in a pinch just as much as I appreciate heavyweights like the SCHF43.

    I love all of ontarios spec plus stuff, that kraton is the best stuff for handles, especially larger knives made for chopping, it's one reason i love the kabar kukri machete, pretty much the same design, (same designer)

  • @johnmutton799

    That blade stabs well and slices well, not made for splitting logs, its a fast blade. Good for cqc. Good review mate, keep it up!

  • @DannoCrutch

    Gotta love Ontario. I think they give a great knife for the money. The sheaths sort of suck, but they basically do what they should. That blade is thinner than I thought, which I like that it is offered. The OKCs that I do have are nice, and a few are deceptively light in the hand.

    Nice fighting knife! when are knife companies gonna learn that nylon sheaths can kick rocks!!! I bought a special order silent hero with smooth micarta handles from Tops and left some feedback explaining that they would sell more knives if they offereda kydex choice on all the knives. P.S still didn't stop me from buying my silent hero or sxb! ;)

    Liked the review, I don't know about the end of the handle "crow's beak" they call it , good for holding the knife one way , you're right Ontario makes some decent blades.

    • @Dat1Guy5237
      @Dat1Guy5237 8 лет назад

      Tramontina (I think that's how it's spelled.) Machetes come from Brazil and they're really good for a budget latin style machete. Around $20 for one and $10-$15 for a sheath because they don't come with one.

    I love my SP 47 it's a beast that 5160 steel is fricken wicked tuff, also the coating really works good. Those sheaths suck but atleast yours fits, fricken Ontario gives you that sheath for every knife even my 5, inch sp47 now that's lame LOL.
    I scored mine for 39$ cause Ontario is discontinuing the saber grind version... don't know why. Great review as always brother.

    A knife like that really oughta have a false edge, in my personal opinion... What do you think the tip would be like if one were to modify it to be as such? Would it be too thin, do you think?

  • @nosrin1988
    @nosrin1988 8 лет назад

    Looks really nice but that handle concerns me. I have a super cheap (10-20 on ebay) china made knife with virtually the same handle. So I don't know if i got a cheap blade with a good handle (feels a little sticky?) or if that's an expensive knife with a cheap handle. I do like the handle more or less though.

    Hi Tac im wanting some advice on blades, I need a roundish handle that can fill my hand's due to extensive damage to both my hand's and fingers, (fingers missing on both hands), I'm not looking for a fan boy of any knife maker, who will sing the praises of a knife maker, and you seem to fit the bill very well.
    Please can you suggest a knife maker that makes a roundish handle, that "you" would buy from.
    Im looking for a medium sized bushcraft knife, I'm prepared to spend unto $400, but I'm interested in all makes and price ranges.
    With all respect I don't want to buy some Chinese junk, for those who will be "Offended" since we live in an age where everyone is offended at everything,, my late wife was Chinese/Khmer, and when she came to the UK, she said the same about Chinese products.
    I don't like wood handles at all, as they are always subject to weather conditions, and in general in my mind "crap"
    Thanks for any reply.

    Ontario makes great knives, SHITTY SHEATHS. I don't get it. They could make a nice sheath for this knife far maybe another $5 at manufacturing. Maybe for $10 more they could make a Kydex sheath. These knives would sell a lot more if they came with a decent sheath. and you are right this is not a bushwackers knife, this is more of a fighting knife. That is why it has an upper and lower guard, which by the way would better if it was metal instead of rubber.

    • @Airik1111bibles
      @Airik1111bibles 8 лет назад

      They put that guard on the whole SP gen 2 series even if it isn't a combat blade. My Sp47 is a five inch Boar style blade, I love it but I cut that flipping top guard off which made it feel way better.
      You are spot on, that guard cut off like butter. I used a razor knife and honestly just the pressure of the knife started cutting through it. I took my time and it turned out nice but no way would I trust it for combat. The grip is tough but for some reason the rubber gets softer for the guard, I assume for flex and comfort but that's not what a combat guard should be. My sp47 is awesome now without it, they should redesign the handles and definitely make better sheaths Kydex would be awesome;)
