I have to admit, as an old 'hippie", that I don't "follow" country music. My sister, however, always leads me to the very best songs. My husband and I have been married more than 50 years and In that time, we have had 29 dogs - they have all been street dogs, rescues or foster fails. Someone asked recently "who's the first person you will see in heaven?". No hesitation - loyal, loving Sam Dog - followed by all my other much loved and dearly missed animals. I hope I have enough time left to adopt another couple of dogs - older, perhaps hospice. But knowing all my much loved pets will run to me screaming "momma!!!!!' is all I need as my ashes are spread in the Smokies, along with the ashes of my so loved dogs and cats. "Sis" knows to play this recording. Are there animals in heaven - YES.
I thought I had posted something on this wonderful video, but I guess I was in such a gratitude state of mind when I watched this. Thank you my dear friend for this video. You know how much it means to me. Much love from the Mom of Suzie Q and Dee Dee. This beautiful song and tribute keeps my girls alive always in my heart and memories and reminds me to love the dogs still with us as they grow old so quickly. Today, I will throw the ball with my Molly and Mandy and then next week..take them to their favorite place...the beach..and let them run...and let them stay...Forever Young.
I've returned to CT for the holiday, looking out at the pouring rain. I haven't seen my 15 yr old dachshund, Courtnie, in 2 yrs. She was Sky's best friend, but didn't remember me after13 yrs.of caring for her. Needless to say, I was devastated. Living in Texas and not returning back here often, it's more than likely I'll never see my girl again. I received your RUclips link and it was bittersweet. I'll be picking up Sky's ashes next week and the photo you chose will be in the frame over his paw print.. You did a beautiful job, David, and brought great comfort to those deeply saddened by their loss. Thank you again for sharing your work with all who share the pain of losing a companion.
