- In which Daisy Joy and I explore the sights and sounds of Ted Shanks Conservation Area on a delightfully warm February day. Much of the land is flooded with Mississippi River water in the winter and becomes a waterfowl refuge. There are usually bald eagles here; you can see a pair and one flying overhead in this video.
Birds heard: song sparrow, red-winged blackbird, blue jay, mallard, bald eagle, and geese.
