  • Today we kick off a series recently filmed during my 2017 Switzerland tour. In this first episode I visit one of my favourite Swiss luxury watch makers, and share the journey from raw materials to finished timepiece with a brand renowned for their in-house manufacturing. Jaeger-LeCoultre is like no other brand, with a long history of innovation and a plethora of iconic timepieces that proudly bear their name. In this exclusive, behind the scenes video, we take a look at some astounding ATMOS clocks, highlights from their museum, and awe inspiring watches featuring many of their grand complications. From the famous Reverso, to a duo-metre chronograph, a perpetual calendar with a Tourbillon, and of course, their insanely cool GyroTourbillons, Jaeger-LeCoultre is truly a legendary brand.

My Jaeger le coultre was my father's. It has been maintained regularly & is now sixty years old.
It is as fine a piece as the day it was ready. It's a simple elegant design; self winding in a rose gold case. I treasure it & a new one is beyond my finances.

Isse Al O Sorry, grammar nazi here, if you say "this" the proper word would be "here", not "there". You would say "there" if you said earlier, "that"
      For example:
That is some quality stuff right there.
This is some quality stuff right here.
Sorry, I know, annoying grammar police. Heck, it could have just been a typo and I am making this comment for nothing.

Great video! Would like to add a few notes. The Tornos machines are Swiss lathes. Obviously, Swiss watch makers were the ones who invented them. They differentiate from traditional lathes due to the fact that the bars are fed in and out of a guide bushing and the tools are in front of the bushing. This allows you to do small delicate parts or long skinny shafts easier because the material is supported at the bushing which reduces deflection. With a traditional lathe, the stock is in a fixed position in a chuck and the tools move up and down the bar. So the entire part is sticking out which doesn’t work well with small or long parts.
Also, the robot that was measuring the parts is called a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine). It uses a touch probe that has either a carbide or synthetic ruby ball on the tip. They’re accurate to microns. I also think I saw a OGP Smart Scope system. Which is made here in New York State. 👍🏻

Hard to put into words what this videos captures. The attention to detail and real world 21st century craftsmanship is jaw dropping. The fact that this happens in this day and age of instant gratification and right now manufacturing truly does my heart good. The Rotating Tourbillions are nothing short of staggering. I knew they existed, but never gave them any attention due to the price and rarity, but I think I did myself a bit of an injustice. Knowing the effort that goes into these 2 year to produce products just makes me appreciate my little SARB and my Omega that much more. Very well made video, that had a sense of culture and mystique about it. Must have been a mecca of sorts for you Tristiano. Thanks for bringing us along.

TGV, Thank You so much for producing this video tour. Last night at dinner I decided to play it on our big screen while watching dinner and my wife and daughter were fascinated. It is seldom we can find anything to watch at dinner that we all like especially with the doom and gloom of the news and these tour programs are just the ticket. We will continue to watch them at dinner until there are no more to watch and will watch the next tour tonight! Also a huge shout out to the production quality, music and editing of these programs, they especially look and sound good on our 4k TV and soundbar with subwoofer, very professional. We look forward to seeing more and Thanks again. Joe / Northern Calfornia

JLC has always been my absolute favorite of all watch brands.wasnt really into watches till I got out of high-school but once I did I feel in love with this brand.personally I think my favorite watch from JLC to date would have to be the white gold Duomètre Quantième Lunaire.idk what it is about that watch but imo it's just a absolutely gorgeous piece.had I not done soo much dumb stuff growing up I might just be able to afford to buy one.lol.maybe one day I'll be in a better spot financially that I'll be able to drop 45 grand on one of my grail watches such as this one.

What a great way to kick the Swiss video saga off Tristano. 22:02 - that Reverso stole the show for me. Timeless, elegant and perpetually classy. Finally, I am a happily married man but Sofie is the bomb!

What a fascinating video and company! The Atmos clocks are such a beauty, I've never seen them before.
