We are truly unique. Who knows what other planets like us in the galaxy can make? Maybe music similar to us? We might be the closest to god with music like this. But that's my theory.
Robert Walters been there done that and have the t-shirt but oh yes I would love to go and perhaps we could swing through Venice and take in some Vivaldi
0:44 to 0:55 is my favorite part. The lightness and feeling of starting a brisk, fun, astute walk in the day reminds me so much of Mozart rushing to attend his concert late, and seemingly being so unaware of his procrastination.
In the film this was the outdoor concert that he was performing for the emperor, with Costanza standing by beaming her pride upon Wolfie’s masterful, effortless performance.
I find myself humming different phrases from this and am always amazed to find out they all come from the same piece. He was an absolute genius at exploring the range and depth of any melody to its fullest.
@@JohnPaulGreeneThe inability to appreciate good music is a common problem among people less gifted with intellect. They cannot be subjected to catharsis because it almost always requires decent brainpower
I've been listening to this since it came out when the movie was released in the early 80s and approaching 60, I swear it has kept me younger by forgetting Stress and belief in Almighty God. Thanks be to God for working his brilliant spirit through Mozart!
Listen to 0:37-1:19. If you had to describe Mozart to someone who had never heard his music, with just a few seconds of his music, you couldn't find another piece that was more quintessentially him. :-)
What I find recurring in Mozart's music is his characteristic dominant cadence with the melody being so-ti-do! so-ti-do! Do-ti-do-ti-do-ti-do-ti-do-do(octave lower)-do-do-do (or any variation of those). It's heard in Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, the overture to Marriage of Figaro, his 20th concerto, etc, off the top of my head. Nothing is more Mozart than that, in my opinion.
There are probably millions. We assume that Western music is universal. It may not be, even if it was created by a genius. I remember cases where very, very popular musicians died and I never heard of them until their deaths. Selena, who was very popular in the Hispanic music world lived in my same state and I never heard of her until she died. I still haven't heard her music. People still talk about Kurt Cobain. I had never heard of him either. Chris Cornell died recently. Who? No offense to his fans, but it appears I'm the ONLY person in America not familiar with him! I wonder if he's known is Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, or Algeria, or Tibet? The point of all this is that if super popular contemporary artists aren't universally known who perform in a very current and popular genre, how likely is it that a classical composer who has been dead more than two hundred years is going to be heard by all the people of Mongolia, Orissa India, or some county in Appalachia America. Don't get me wrong, like a said Mr. M was a genius, he composed some of the most beautiful and sophisticated music we will ever hear, but it is more likely than not that millions of people have never heard of him, nor his music. I'm also sure I'm missing some great music by persons unknown to me also.
I like that the orchestra and conductor made this recording (Early 80's) when they did. Seen a recent rendition a couple of years ago; it was rushed and the timing was off, the pianist held up the performance because he knew it was going to be recorded so he was showing off and the conductor was a amateur in dealing with it (I.M.O.) This recording is perfection by true professionals.
Not from a single human. Think about all the musicians playing this. Thousands upon thousands of hours of practice on their respective instruments, since they where children. Amazing.
Saw this live in Prague, 1785. Wolfgang got smashed pregaming w that Czeck lager and one of the 1st bassoons had to take over as conductor. Good times.
Thank you so much for uploading this. This is one of my absolute favorite Mozart pieces. It's just so upbeat and positive. It always cheers me up when I'm down. Again, thank you. ^_^
How genius Mozart was, the music it's absolutely described truly in the film by "Salieri" as you first time listen to it! Each time listen to this I just can't stop think this music send from God!
When times are dull and there's nothing to do, I think of that moment in Shawshank Redemption where after staying in solitary confinement for weeks and months, the question is 'How do you stay sane in there?' 'Music.' The music keeps me alive. I keep replaying this song over and over in my head and god- it keeps me alive.

The almost jazz-like piano part at 1:22 is my personal favorite. I wonder if he played the piano during public performances of this. And I bet it blew people's minds.
Scholars of music state that lots of Mozart’s works for his subscription concerts were written in a way that on paper appeared simple. They later came to realize that he published just the key in order for him to absolutely improvise on the fly. Pretty cool for a guy from this period in history!

My favourite piano concerto, i still have this one on vinyl played by Helene Bosh'i who was a French swiss pianist and have had this record in peake condition since c1964, in those days one could listen to the recording that you where inrending to purchase, in fact you could go through all the recordings until you where satisfied , then you would buy it, thats probably why i am still happy with all the recordings that i bought in the 1960's and still have a few of them to this day, and Ah those days when you could do just that!!
