When you pander to activists, they will demand absolute allegiance.
It’s either you’re an complete ally who has pledged elegance to your cause and will fight through to the end or you’re a direct enemy who’s completely against everything you stand for with no middle ground whatsoever who must be defeated at all costs.
Cause these people are using activism as a front for their narcissism. Whatever label these people wear, it's more to flex and deflect criticism by calling it bigotry. The need to be in control, disproportionate and irrational hatred for anything that goes against their belief, even the most minor of criticism or praise to perceived rivals/enemies, these are classic traits of narcissism.

This is the first Academy Award ever presented to a male Black performer. Instead of being proud of their part in this moment in Black History, Disney has relegated his achievement to their vault. If you have ever seen Song of the South, you will probably agree that it is quite innocent, and not racist. It is set in the post-Civil War era and does not depict slavery or blacks in a bad light at all. A simple introduction clarifying the time period would be enough to include.

Actually the Very FIRST Academy reward presented to a black person was presented to Hattie McDaniel for her Role in "Gone with the Wind".? It’s almost like the community is either not big enough or doesn’t show up enough to support a show by themselves. You could offset that by making a show that lots of people would like, but they don’t do that sort of thing at Mouse House.

When my favourite tv show (Rescue 911) got cancelled by CBS in 1997 I didn't get upset like this.
I just found something else to watch on tuesday nights at 8 pm.
I mean the Firefly tv show has been cancelled and every body all though disappointed. Weren't as extreme. Mainly cause they were raised to be an adult.

I was extremely disappointed when I tuned in to watch rescue 911 that september evening and was greeted by the pilot episode of JAG instead.
It sucked having no new episodes to watch, but I could still watch it in reruns on the local fox affiliate station.
And nothing of value was lost.

Howard is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. Howard and Alan saved Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid and as he was dying they wrote Aladdin songs on his hospital bed. I cried my eyes out And now they have to change lyrics Disney you suck so much this is too much. The Little Mermaid leave it alone and let this beautiful man and soul rest in peace Disney does not care anybody any more...

I was wondering what was taking so long to call them that. They called HBO the same thing over shows that DON'T PERFORM.
I saw the Doc when it premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. It was beautifully made, honored the lyrical genius that was Ashman, and marveled at how much he accomplished, despite being a gay man and dealing with AIDS at the peak of his career during Beauty And The Beast and a decent chunk of Aladdin. Which is why I am flabbergasted that they wouldn't mind disrespecting his work with the changes made to the films he helped craft musically back in the 80's/early 90's.

Although I thought the Willow series was garbage, now the only way its few fans will be able to watch it is via piracy. This is a flaw of streaming services in general as they can remove content at will. Physical media avoids this, but unfortunately sales have declined because of streaming. Ah well.

As a reminder this is at minimum the third attempt at making Willow a thing. Both the previous series and the movie failed to such a degree that they were swept into the dust bin of history, relegated to mid day fillers on networks that go unwatched, and eventually memory holed. There may have been other attempts but I'm the end they have all ended in failure, it's time to finally accept that Willow will NEVER be bigger than the very tiny miniscule audience it has and let it go. I was saying when this iteration came out that it too shall face the exact same fate as it's predecessors as the audience for it is not there, will never be there, and is only shrinking by the day.
Wait, it had a series before this? I like the movie and am curious about the books. But otherwise, yeah, I agree; it's obvious it's one of those highly niche, cult-classic type IPs. It's never going to be a big franchise, and especially not after this disaster of a Disney+ show.

What I don't get is who cares about the numbers or the box office for movies when the Streaming Platform has unlimited space... it's not like an actual Public Library where they are limited for space so they have to get rid of old books to make room for new ones, streaming services are a digital library and should have everything the studio has ever made on their platform whether it's being currently watched or not........

I watched Howard last night, I didn't know this documentary was made. Ashman was my idol during my childhood. I was 8 when Little Mermaid came out, and his music made my childhood years magical. It broke my heart when he past away. He deserves all the respect and recognition. He was still writing songs for Disney whilst being in a hospital dying from Aids.
I don't care if he was gay or whatever, that doesn't matter, his documentary should be still be there because without him, Disney would be nothing now.
I also want to clarify, I have Disney+ and I only use it to watched classic Disney animated movies and the app never recommended this documentary to me, it was pretty much hidden, I found out about it because it was going to be taken down.
Some ppl exist just to be offended.
Maybe its coming soon, I dunno, but at some point the majority of businesses who actually want to make money will realize pandering to a severely small percentage and forcing all customers to as well is not the road to riches. Its actually the road to updating your resume.
Anyone who went to see Willow in the theaters in 1986 probably were expecting representation since they would be time travelers. Willow was released in 1988. And the "female knight" character was awful. Erin Kellyman can't act, and Disney needs to get past her as well as Lin-Manuel Miranda.
