I grew up listening to this song with my dad. We used to turn it up and annoy my mom with it so much. I played this for him as he was passing away last week he even sang along with me for a little bit before he ended up passing. I will always love this song and the memories that it holds.
I worked at an amusement park for one season and I WISH this was one of the songs that was on the park's Halloween Playlist instead of Thriller, Remains of the Day, and the God damn Monster Mash over and over and over. And because we were so short staffed I would be there for more than 12 hours every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so 12+ hours of this would have been less aggrevating XD
Grew up with Carmen Sandiego, and I watched this whole thing on VHS, and was exposed to an amazing world beyond the confines of my Pennsylvania town by my erudite grandmother. I miss those times, and I miss her.
I was OBSESSED with this. Which back then it was challenging to binge repeatedly while having to rewind the VHS to just the right spot haha. It was on there with the film bloodsport.... ahhh memories
I first heard of rockapella in 11th grade music class. Our awesome teacher had us watch Do it Acapella. It was the best ever. Considering i remember this 32 years after graduation
this is one of those songs that, for me, is kinda like a bookmark in my life. it appeared at a time long ago when i was going through a bad time, and now it shows up in my feed and just makes me feel so freakin' good. thanks for posting and thanks for the people who worked on it.
This video is sooooo much fun to watch. I was giddy with a smile on my face the whole time. This song reminds me of 1990 when I first heard it on the radio at 12 years old. Reminds me of great times from my childhood. Thank you for sharing this version. So much fun.
Where in the world is carmen San Diego show on PBS was my intro to Rockapella when i was a kid! I was hooked after that. I had to see them in person. My parents to us to see them live at AZ state fair one year back in the good ol dayz!
I grew up on a dairy farm in Gilroy, CA. I loved Rockapella and Where in The World is Carmen Sandiego. I still every year on a test I give in math as a bonus question (Extra Credit: Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?) I get so many fun answers.
Sometimes, i'm affraid that my two girls will never live in a world naive enought to appreciate this shit. Seriously, this song is so bumbly that nobody born after 2000 will ever understand what the fuck we were happy about.
The only reason I remember this song just fight it being a very good song, is that somebody used this song clip for an animation on Newgrounds. Said animation was called gone too far too, if I remember correctly. Aside from that though, I will always have this song stuck in my head forever
It will be a coincidence that I was checking out the videos to watch later after months of saving them and watching this one during the month of Halloween.
It's even more ironic because little did they know what would happen to the World Trade Center in 2001. It's as if they knew it would potentially be in bad taste.
Fun fact. I knew someone who worked in the film industry and in props and makeup... The fact that the lead singer could still act and dance with those contacts in with the glasses is a feat akin to SEER Training for solders. Those contacts are/ were PAINFUL ae all hell and he probably couldn't see much out of them... They're very similar to the ones worn by Jim Carrey in his role as the Grinch. Painful and can't see dick

I worked at an amusement park and every Halloween I'd hear this song 100x a day.
That still wouldn’t be enough for me 😂❤

Bet you got an ear worm and kept singing this am I right?
This is how you properly play a finely tuned hand 😉

WE BRINGING IT BACK TO THE 90'S WITH THIS ONE🔥🔥🔥

My ten year old and I listen to this daily all the time all day 😩love it so much
such an earworm. blasting this in my car is pure antidepressant
So glad I found this. Remember these guys from Carmen San Diego. Also I thought the lyrics were “I don’t give a damn, I’m stoned already” lol.

I MISS THESE DAYS❤❤❤
Core childhood memory unlocked. So glad I have weed to experience this with now 😂
The lady standing next to Spike Lee is the legendary Debbie Allen.
Today, this song was playing on a Japanese radio station. I love songs with this kind of groove.
This was the song that gave them the job on Carmen Sandiego!!
First time I've seen/heard this in 30yrs. Wow!

I had to stop my cousin from getting the rockapella logo tattooed.
You robbed her of a lifetime of good memories 😂😂😂
The group that made me fall in love with a cappella

Anyone remember the waiters at Ed Debevic's in Phoenix getting up on the tables to this song?
The other group glaring at them like they couldn't wait for them to finish already.
I used to hear this on the radio station in Hawaii back in the early 90s!

You remember correctly. You can still find it on youtube.
"just fight it"... did you mean "despite it"?

Steve Keyes is so darn gorgeous. I finally got around to meeting him a few years ago.

0:52 Ahhhh, sleep paralysis demon has entered the chat forever.

I can't believe this song is not on any of their cds.
It's on the live CDs
Unfortunately, not on amazon music
Hit it Rockpella

Thanks for uploading this. Been looking for this for a long time now. :)
Michael Key before Mad TV

This is how they got the gig for WITWISD
Sean - tenor
Scott- higher tenor
Elliot- baritone
Big Barry- bass
Scott no... Steve Keyes
Scott isn't in this video.
@@Shan_Dalamani I know he isn't.....but still...the above IS the lineup I grew up knowing well 🙂🙂
@@sweetlife031 Same here, though I was over 30 when I got hooked on the Carmen Sandiego show. Scott was always my favorite.
Where did the time go?
Still great
I love that scene where they cut to the group of very unamused black people for a min. What was that?
I was wondering the same thing hilarious tho
It's even more ironic because little did they know what would happen to the World Trade Center in 2001. It's as if they knew it would potentially be in bad taste.
“White people…🙄”
What could have inspired them to make this?
Cause it’s awesome!!!
maybe the original song
Mushrooms and belly buttons, friend told me
the hours it took to practice this 😳
Stellar!!
ハーモニーが好き。最高。
They cut off the first 30 seconds.. Where it looked like it would be a gang fight, including a chain being wrapped around knuckles. LOL
Dirty rats
Damn you Jeff Whitmire and Alexander Burns!!!

Great music. I play this when I screw
The sauce has been found
The original guys were the best.
That's what she said 😏
2:04 Never forget 😢
Por que esta canción no es famosa es muy buena
a lot of jealous eyes in the background
Rockapella has to be the least white white music I've ever heard, if that makes sense, which it probably doesn't.
It makes perfect sense
Well, it doesn't hurt that in this case they're covering a calypso song supposedly (authorship disputed) by a black composer from NY 🤷🏻♀️
They hit the "Wakanda Forever" at the end! Ressspect
Was anyone else nervous when the chain came out??
Not really, they can't reach thru screens yet, everyone but you know that 🤣
Windycon 2012
Why isnt this on Spotify???
Good question
BOB SAGET
Is this funny song in Spotify?
Yes
@@Nostalmania can you share it? I can't find this version in Spotify
They hardly resemble anyone id picture being interested in zombies, brain eating or other typical zombie behaviors 👹
those unsettling eyes on the main singer at 0:51 tell me otherwise.
I don't like the fact that this is an all-white men thing
But I must confess it's the version I like best
White men are the reason it’s the best.
There have been many lineup changes with this band over the years.
