Ace. Cayde-6 has always been perhaps my favorite character in Destiny, period. The more I look into his story, however, the more I love the character. I'm also a Hunter main in D1 and D2, and (though I didn't create him at the time with Cayde in mind) my Hunter is an Exo. Which now, for me, holds even more significance. In D2 currently, my Hunter is rocking the full set of Vanguard Dare armor and carrying the Ace of Spades. All to pay homage to Cayde. Everyone's talking about how we're reaching a point where we may need to decide where our allegiance lies - with the Drifter or the Vanguard. I'm sticking with the Vanguard. Not for Zavala, not for Ikora, but for the people of the City and for Cayde. Because that's what he would do.
This is all good speculation until you get to the part in lore where Cayde-6 admits that he doesnt really remember anyone and he has created 'Ace' in his mind to have someone to talk to and care about in his journals

That hints at the possibility that there might be a newly created Bray organisation that focuses on improving and revolutionising technology. It would fit the Travellers return well. If Ana Bray truly is as competent as her ancestor Clovis Bray was then we might see new weapons and technology added into the game by her skills.
I’ve heard his cloak is Andal Brask’s old cloak. This makes sense as well because in D1, theres a Rare cloak with the description about taking up another Hunters Cloak.

I personally have the backstory of my Exo Hunter as one like Cayde, who was present during the Collapse (but not working for Clovis Bray like Cayde was), he was a volunteer for the project. He sacrificed everything he knew to become an Exo, then when the collapse hit, he fell to the Darkness. Decades, if not centuries later, he's resurrected as a Guardian, his memories of the Collapse gone, and he would rather keep it that way. The name I gave my Exo is Dehlin-2, by the way.
Just wanted to thank you for all your videos over the years. Whenever I have time to play destiny it is with my friends and it's hard to catch all the little details in the game. So thanks for giving the Destiny universe some life for me.

Now I know this is a bit of a stretch, and we'll just a theory, but what if Cayde's child "Ace" is actually Amanda holiday. You may say well that's impossible Cayde's child was alive before the collapse, well to you I say, the people in destiny have a longer life span than people have today, also Cayde never said that Ace was already born (nor did the gender of Cayde's child ever show up) and Amanda's mother was alive before the collapse, most likely bearing an unborn child, whom the father or the mother could have given the nickname "Ace" to. Another thing I do believe Amanda's father was never talked about in any of her grimor cards. Also most my say Cayde is in love with Amanda, but what if the love he has for Amanda is not of how a husband would love his wife but as a father would love his daughter. Now I personally have no idea how a father would treat his children, but I imagine spending time with your daughter wouldn't be wrong. I have never had a father, so please correct me if I am wrong.
Just want to say your videos are AWESOME. Last few days ive been going thru them all, just playing them in the background while playing Destiny and Destiny 2. Me and my partner love the story side of the game and are always speculating about what may be true and how things have got to where they are. I cant thank you enough for the time and effort you put into researching the data and putting the clues together to make these videos. To me it all seems to make sense and we have often come to some similar conclusions ourselves with certain topics within the lore of Destiny. A lot of people just cruise through the game and ignore the background storylines....me and my gf love to delete a character randomly, just to go through the whole thing from the start and revisit the storylines. *spoilers ahead* Cayde has the most depressing story, in my opinion. He seems to be one of the few that remembers the collapse in detail, and is actually scared of what another one could mean. Given the end of D2, where Zavala's dialogue specifically says "a new golden age," perhaps another collapse will come. I don't think the ships are the darkness or whatever, but from the D1 concept art, I'd say that it has something to do with the last collapse. No, I don't think it's vex because the vex have no need for ships, as they can teleport across the system in a matter of minutes. Oryx's fellow hive gods are a possibility, because we have little knowledge of what hive Capitol ships look like. However, I know Cabal aren't an option because we've seen their ships all over the place, and they aren't styled like that. And we can't rule out a new species, given the vastness of the Destiny universe. However, all over this aside, I enjoy the fleshing out of the characters, I hope they do the same to the other characters. Thanks for the video, Meylin.

Probably has been said, but you receive odds and ends from Cayde's stashes. I received an Ascendant Artichoke that Cayde had shown to a hive ascendant ritual, Eververse Legendarie, which is some sort of exo shine(Kinda like perfume, but for exos?) as well as the same journal entries.

Interesting fact, since you brought up Clovis Bray in this video: you can find a scannable in the Warmind bunker on Io during the Arecibo adventure that mentions that it looks like Clovis Bray was responsible for scrubbing the data storage in the Warmind bunker. It's hidden in the very far corner of the corridor after the room with the huge Vex horde and the music boxes, just past the last music box you need to access to end the story.
What if we are Ace. Think about it. Ace is a pretty gender ambiguous name, and he seems to have a natural connection to you throughout the stories of D1-D2. And because you were resurrected, you would have no recollection of what your father was like. Or maybe thats just the ramblings of an ill hunter with nothing to do while the servers are down.

If Ana Bray truly is as competent as her ancestor Clovis Bray was then we might see new weapons and technology added into the game by her skills.

I personally have the backstory of my Exo Hunter as one like Cayde, who was present during the Collapse (but not working for Clovis Bray like Cayde was), he was a volunteer for the project. He sacrificed everything he knew to become an Exo, then when the collapse hit, he fell to the Darkness. Decades, if not centuries later, he's resurrected as a Guardian, his memories of the Collapse gone, and he would rather keep it that way.
The name I gave my Exo is Dehlin-2, by the way.
Just wanted to thank you for all your videos over the years. Whenever I have time to play destiny it is with my friends and it's hard to catch all the little details in the game.

Now I know this is a bit of a stretch, and we'll just a theory, but what if Cayde's child "Ace" is actually Amanda holiday. You may say well that's impossible Cayde's child was alive before the collapse, well to you I say, the people in destiny have a longer life span than people have today, also Cayde never said that Ace was already born (nor did the gender of Cayde's child ever show up) and Amanda's mother was alive before the collapse, most likely bearing an unborn child, whom the father or the mother could have given the nickname "Ace" to. Another thing I do believe Amanda's father was never talked about in any of her grimor cards. Also most my say Cayde is in love with Amanda, but what if the love he has for Amanda is not of how a husband would love his wife but as a father would love his daughter. Now I personally have no idea how a father would treat his children, but I imagine spending time with your daughter wouldn't be wrong. I have never had a father, so please correct me if I am wrong.
So glad I finished the campaign. I can finally watch myelin again :)

Just want to say your videos are AWESOME. Last few days ive been going thru them all, just playing them in the background while playing Destiny and Destiny 2. Me and my partner love the story side of the game and are always speculating about what may be true and how things have got to where they are. I cant thank you enough for the time and effort you put into researching the data and putting the clues together to make these videos. To me it all seems to make sense and we have often come to some similar conclusions ourselves with certain topics within the lore of Destiny. A lot of people just cruise through the game and ignore the background storylines....me and my gf love to delete a character randomly, just to go through the whole thing from the start and revisit the storylines. Cayde has the most depressing story, in my opinion. He seems to be one of the few that remembers the collapse in detail, and is actually scared of what another one could mean.
Given the end of D2, where Zavala's dialogue specifically says "a new golden age," perhaps another collapse will come.
I don't think the ships are the darkness or whatever, but from the D1 concept art, I'd say that it has something to do with the last collapse. No, I don't think it's vex because the vex have no need for ships, as they can teleport across the system in a matter of minutes. Oryx's fellow hive gods are a possibility, because we have little knowledge of what hive Capitol ships look like. However, I know Cabal aren't an option because we've seen their ships all over the place, and they aren't styled like that. And we can't rule out a new species, given the vastness of the Destiny universe.
However, all over this aside, I enjoy the fleshing out of the characters, I hope they do the same to the other characters. Thanks for the video, Meylin.

Interesting fact, since you brought up Clovis Bray in this video: you can find a scannable in the Warmind bunker on Io during the Arecibo adventure that mentions that it looks like Clovis Bray was responsible for scrubbing the data storage in the Warmind bunker. It's hidden in the very far corner of the corridor after the room with the huge Vex horde and the music boxes, just past the last music box you need to access to end the story.

What if we are Ace. Think about it. Ace is a pretty gender ambiguous name, and he seems to have a natural connection to you throughout the stories of D1-D2. And because you were resurrected, you would have no recollection of what your father was like. Or maybe thats just the ramblings of an ill hunter with nothing to do while the servers are down.
