Churchill MkVIII (Infantry MkIV) Crocodile Australian Army Tank Museum. British Infantry Tank.

The Australian Army Tank Museum at Puckapunyal, Victoria holds a collection of armored vehicles of interest to the School of Armour which trains personnel at this operational military base.
This footage was shot on Thursday 06-Oct-2022 and is of the British WWII Churchill Mk VIII Crocodile Flame Tank. As an Infantry Tank (Tank, Infantry, Mk IV) emphasis was placed on armor rather than speed, and the capability of the main gun and hull mounted flamethrower to help support Infantry. Its armor, as thick as 152mm, provided excellent anti-tank round resistance. It was used to break up fixed fortifications utilising its flamethrower which had an effective range of around 70m-100m and could fire continuously for around 80 seconds.
This example has a 95mm Howitzer turret mounted gun, signifying that the flamethrower conversion is based on the Churchill Mk VIII. The flamethrower is installed in place of the hull mounted machine gun and is serviced by an armoured trailer holding 1,800 litres of pressurised fuel.
