Thanks for that, very useful. One item I ran into on my QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019 is I needed to be in Single-user mode before it will let me merge. Not sure how popular Multi-user mode is. Thanks again.
I am having an issue merging a customer that has the same name and spelled correctly but one has a job and one doesn't. I cannot merge them with the information given in this video.
What is the difference between doing this "merge" versus just moving any jobs to the correct record and then deleting the other customer record? Thanks
I, by mistake made 2 files. Now instead of re-typing all the info from file 2 into file 1, is there a way I can merge the 2 files into 1? I would like to merge file 2 into file 1. Both files are from the same company/account. Does anyone know if there is a video of this I have quickbooks desktop. TIA
Unfortunately there is no merge function. You can import lists and even import transactions with 3rd party software. You can also use a merging service but within QB there is no way to merge 2 files
@@QbuniversityOrg I'm very new to quickbooks. And to help our accountant (a family member) I just enter reciept info entering the bills for now. And well I made a 2nd file instead of entering in the existing file I made a new one..🤦♀️ So than there is no way to merge it? I'm coming up to a due date and am scared I'm not going to make thata why I ask about merging to help save time... I appreciate all your advice. Thanks.
I want to run a report to show me all the customers who didn't pay me within a month or two months, or by other words I want to find the customers from whom I received zero amount within a month. Please help me

You could do that. It’s just easier to merge if you have lots of data under both

Wahid Aksir are you talking about an AR aging report?
I just watched how to merge customers. What about merging vendors? That is my situation.
It’s the same process
I want to merge 100 customers into one customer. Is there a way to do this besides one customer at at time?
Melisa Bryant I don’t believe there is unfortunately. Not that I’m aware of
