Im a big fan of futuristic/sci fi designs and looking things, so I love the BMPT.
Also, come on, Terminator is one of the best names for an armored vehicle ever!
and it was destroyed after about 2 month of using (it was just 1)
@morkione8589 ???? First off, in its first deployment to severodonetsk, it didn't suffer any losses.
Then, months later, when it reappeared in Kremmina, yeah, one got destroyed (out of two deployed there).
No one said these things were invincible or even necessarily had excellent armor.

Интересно. Это танк Т-90 М с другой башней, из БМТ можно обратно сделать полноценый танк. Просто за 5 ч. вместо спаренных пулемётов поставьте башню от танка Т-90 М. Терминатор станет танком. Башня танка Т-90 М необитаема. Удобно. Производство модифицированно. Ещё она умеет автоматически разворачиваться. Любой боевой танк не создан для борьбы с пехотой. Максимальная скорость 90 км/ч. Это новый класс боевой техники. Это не БМП. Плавать не умеет, место для пехоты нет. Предназначенный для определённых боевых условий, действий.

love how the compensators are pointed at each other. would flex at least a bit less if the designers would know what they are doing
from what i know, its not really supposed to fire both 2A42 simultaneously as the one has to be loaded with AP belt and the other with HE. i'm not entirely sure as to why exactly was that done though since 2A42 has double feed anyway and the total amount of 30mm carried in BMPT is about the same as in BMPs. Perhaps a failsafe in case of jamming or malfunction to have at least one gun operational.

Given how the battlefield has changed, drones, accurate artillery. Armor is almost useless now.
It is actually clever to focus on full offensive capability rather than defensive capability.
So I think this is a good design.
Armor is actually more useful than ever. Artillery getting direct hits is rare, and drones can only carry small payloads. If you up the armor just a bit past that of a BMP's and add some roof ERA, it becomes extremely effective.

Russia better start making long range FPV drone carriers. Too small and too low for air defense to engage, but just big enough to knock out a tank. Traditional armor are already legacy weapons.

Terminators didn't do much in Ukraine
They showed up behind the lines, shot a forest and left, some even got hit by artillery
@@StopTakingDamnHandles Shot a forest? You mean Kremennaya? Those are frontlines and BMPTs are dominating there because they are perfect for that kind of enviroment. They blew up multiple Ukranian tanks and obliterated infantry.

One manage to get destroyed by ukrainian artillery fire a couple got damaged.
After that they decided to retreat along with the handful of T14s that went alongside.
Even looking at it Russia still wasn't able to create a proper dual feed cannon, instead relying on a second gun.

But I think it’s intentional since an easy fix would to turn the muzzle brake 90 degrees.

Such an insanly cool design on paper (and looks hella awsome) BUT sadly (or not so) this vehicle showed to be an absolute desaster in Ukraine. Many instances where the atgms on the sides got cooked off by the firing of the 35mm autocanons and many technical issues as well.
Russian design thankfully only looks menacing on paper and shows not in the actual field 😂😂 thats why they use so many soviet era design and upgrade them to somewhat modern standarts (T72M f.E.)

Even though my respect for Russian armour was already below that of Western designs and dipped even more since the Russian failures in the Russo-Ukraine conflict, this still has to be one of the meanest looking AFV's out there IMO.

Saw a video of Ukrainian soldiers on the receiving end of the autocannon.... absolutely terrifying
0:50 barrels wobling around, meaning they will not hit even a bus in 100m distance. Even 12 barrels would not compensate this massive design failure. The Puma has overcome this problem with a barrel stabilizer.

Стабилизаторы могут увеличить дальность эффективного огня 30мм орудия где-то до 1.5 км (в неподвижном состоянии), что избыточно для баллистики снарядов это типа. Поэтому теперь, после испытания бмпт терминатор в СВО, его, похоже, будут оснащать 57-мм орудием.

It met accuracy requirements even without the barrel strut but since Rheinmetall engineers were sure they could increase accuracy even further with it the Army agreed on including it. The Austrian Uhlan IFV has an older version of the same gun without the strut.
Puma shot a 0.5 liter tetra-pak off a windowsill at 1000 meters.

Размер калибра не имеет значения, даже 25мм уже достаточно. Это зависит от точности и скорострельности. После первых попаданий ОБТ противника обычно слеп, потому что оптика разрушена. Больший калибр тоже не поможет.

@@definitelyfrank9341 More than four meters. Far more. It's 30 mm, you still need to fire _through_ windows to have proper effect in european buildings. It needs several rounds in the same spot to punch through a brick wall. Also no, in properly dug in defensive positions 4 meters already means missing the bunker or emplacement completely. Especially since it's HE and not programmable Airburst like on modern western IFVs you can't just detonate the round in the air above the trench but have to hit something near it, dugout wall, hill, whatever. That's why trenches are so effective in Ukraine, programmable Airburst equipped western IFVs would just turn it into chunky salsa.
No, you will not be turned into a vegetable by a HE round that whizzes 4 meters or more over your trench and hits a tree 50 meters behind you. Or better, going off on a tree 40 meters in front of you because the gunner couldn't hit a clear firing channel through the forest because his rounds decide to stray 4 meters left and right into trees.
Also no, if you think enough 30 mm will just mow down a forest to create a firing channel, it's far too small for that. Non-Airburst HE is a bitch in forests. Another advantage of programmable Airburst, they have a solid tip that punches through trees/branches until the actual programmed detonating point, HE just detonates at the first contact of a thick enough branch.
Also the BMPT guns can't change ammo, one is constantly firing KE and the other HE so it's also a huge waste of ammunition to engage something the other type isn't meant for. And no, the KE will also not fell trees, they just make a 1.5 cm hole. 30 mm KE is tiny.
T-90M uses French Thales Catherine FC thermal imagers and some more or less equivalent copies of it. Catherine FC is from the early 2000s. The most modern sights Russia has are copies from a western thermal imager from the early 2000s. That's an entire generation behind modern western ones.

There are a couple dozen videos of it in action. There's even a combat documentary about it and its crews. Pretty good watch.

Je ne comprends pas l'intérêt de fabriquer un blindé léger de ce type vu les théâtres de guerre à venir. Il sera une véritable cible pour les autres chars d'assauts, les équipes anti-blindés au sol, les drones, etc. C'est bien beau de faire une vidéo alléchante en filmant un engin sorti tout droit de Warhammer 40k, pendant des séances de tests sur un terrain militaire, mais en vérité ce véhicule est déjà dépassé en termes de puissance de feu, d'autonomie, de technologies, et de contre-mesures, avant même d'avoir eu son baptême du feu. Je plains ses futurs équipages qui en cas de combat, ne vivront pas longtemps.
