If you think this is wild, Rallying was probably at its peak in the 80's where it was around similar popularity as F1, they had extremely fast cars, & a huge amount of fans which would literally line every road the rally was on, their are some incredible shots of rally cars back then literally weaving their way at top speed through what looks like crowds of people with some jumping out the way at the last minute, this obviously was stopped when as you can imagine a nasty incident happened involving spectators & caps on spectators & slower cars were enforced
we need more motorsports based sidemen reacts. huge audience for motorsports who also love the sidemen and seeing the boys reactions to it is always fun
I would see The Sidemen doing a their own Top Gear video and build their own cars to race against each other. Also, this probably would be the result. Lmao
atlantic drive up in donegal is tiny. a lot of the killarney ones too. we drove the atlantic drive one this year after the second stage got cancelled and it was sickening
Would like to see the them react to a Group B rally compilation! Barely any regulations led to some insane and memorable cars. Unfortunately, due to an alarming number of spectator (and driver) deaths it was discontinued in the mid/late 80's and the cars were either abandoned or changed to fit other rally classes.
If they think that these rally fails are crazy, wait until they discover the insane saves and just clips in general that some of these drivers are able to pull off 😳
i vaguely remember watching a similar video as 10:16 where the guy that got ran over (he was prone to take pictures of the truck as it was crossing the dune) died after a short time, if this guy was luckier, then props to him! RIP to all the passionate people that lost their lives doing or admiring what they loved!

Anyone wondering, rally cars are probably the safest car you could ever drive. There's a reason that its probably the most extreme sport we have, but it has the fewest casualties out of the craziest sports. Only 19 people have died in WRC since its start in 1972. Which is amazing after watching this.

Yeah Group B was wild. I've also heard that it was very common for mechanics to find fingers in the vents and radiator of the car.
group B was the pinnacle of rally. but in the end they rightfully pulled the plug because the deaths just kept rising
