    This is the best comprehensive startup tutorial I’ve seen so far. I look forward to following this video later today for the same flight.

    Just recommended this video to a viewer on my own channel, as it's the best A320 tutorial I've come across for FS2020 (so far!)👍

    • @FilbertFlies
      @FilbertFlies  4 года назад +1

      Oh, thank you very much! And thanks for making sure I don't get ahead of myself with the cheeky "so far" comment too! 😅 No, it's nice to hear people are finding this useful. It's almost enough to make me think it's time for a second instalment... but not quite, not yet. I'm still not over the trauma of the 10 hours it took to do this one!

      @@FilbertFlies Yes, I also get withdrawal symptoms after pouring many hours into a video. We should consider doing some sort of collaboration, as we have similar viewing/subscriber counts - and more importantly: we both make videos on this cracking simulation! ;)

      One day, perhaps... this tutorial took me nearly 10 hours to do, when I expected it would take 2, due to having to restart over and over again every time I stumbled over my words. So I'm reluctant to embark on another one at this point in time.

    Mate, you are my hero. So good tutorial mate!!! Incredible!!! Thank you so much for doing so good videos!! I would like, perhaps a tutorial with the ILS landing and how you configure the PERF page in the MCDU for landing. :) You missed this from the video, but I think that is part of the Landing preparations :)

    • @FilbertFlies
      @FilbertFlies  4 года назад +1

      Thank you for leaving such lovely feedback. Yes, the approach PERF page is something you configure in flight, usually just before you start your descent. I might do further A320 tutorials in the future but this one is going to be it for now. It took me much longer than I thought it would to get it just right, so I need a good long break before contemplating any more!

    I have only watched the first 5 min so far as I am on my way to work. I already like it and will definitely follow it through and subscribe to your channel. I was wondering how to start the sim in a cold and dark state? Well done.

    • @FilbertFlies
      @FilbertFlies  4 года назад +1

      Hope you continue to enjoy it! The aircraft automatically starts cold and dark if you start at a gate rather than on the runway.

  • @docd3d
    @docd3d 4 года назад +2

    Definately more of this, if you can. Its a bit hard to come by good tutorials specific for the FlyByWire A320 so this is excellent. Perhaps a full flight from Cold and Dark to shutdown would be good?

    • @FilbertFlies
      @FilbertFlies  4 года назад

      Glad you found it useful and I will try and do more tutorials in the future. I have to be honest though, completing this one was a real labour of love. I thought it would take a couple of hours when I started but it ended up taking about ten, what with sim issues and multiple takes due to stumbling over my words (and having to start from scratch each time to get the FMGC into the right state). In short, it drove me mad, and the upbeat tone of my voice became more and more of an act as time went on! So I'd like to think I'll do more once I've recovered, but I'm not going to commit to it at this stage!

    • @FilbertFlies
      @FilbertFlies  4 года назад

      That said, if you watch back any of my live streams, they are essentially full flights from cold and dark to shutdown. I don't talk through everything in this level of detail, but I tend to discuss what I'm doing. You might find this is all you need.

    • @docd3d
      @docd3d 4 года назад

      @@FilbertFlies absolutely. I have watched a couple of your streams and you’re right, they are informative as well though in a different format. For learning a tutorial is easier, but I understand your hesitation as well. Trying to be up-beat when your teeth are clenched is hard indeed. 😊
      Have you gotten Pilot2ATC to work with the FBW a320? I can’t seem to be able to tune the radios, so I get no clearance and no atc. But the plane is followed throughout the flight. I think it’s a issue with the mod, just wanted to check

    • @FilbertFlies
      @FilbertFlies  4 года назад

      I have. But you're right, tuning the radios in the cockpit doesn't work. I pop up the comms panel (if that's what it's called - not in front of my computer) from P2A and use that to tune the frequencies instead. • @swinterstein
      @swinterstein 4 года назад

      Just some remarks: After turning on the batteries, I had a beeping master warning, which was irritating. Also, on the MCDU's Perf page, the Vs weren't preset for me. What would I do in that case when I don't want to use an external tool?

    • @FilbertFlies
      @FilbertFlies  4 года назад

      You should be able to silence any master warnings by clicking on the warning light in the cockpit. As for the V speeds, I'm really not sure why they're not coming up. Have you tried clicking the line select keys next to the blank spaces twice? That might populate them.

    Once you put your takeoff config and flex temp in the MCDU, you can click on the LSK next to the V-speeds to select new speeds. I don't know where these speeds are coming from, though, and don't know how they compare to the ones from the calculator you use.

    • @FilbertFlies
      @FilbertFlies  4 года назад

      Interesting, I didn't know that. But I suppose you're still going to need to calculate a flex temp to get to this point, so you may as well calculate your V speeds at the same time?

    Thanks a lot for your great videos. I downloaded the flyby wires from your link. Somehow, the ADRS switches, no smoking sign and door arming as well as few other switches show as inoperable while the rest are operable. Any suggestions please on how to fix the bug, as I see they all work in your flyby wires version. Much appreciate your advise. TIA

      I think maybe it hasn't been installed properly, or you have a conflicting A320 mod in your community folder. Alternatively, it could be that the latest stable build isn't working properly since the sim update. It might be worth downloading the 'master' (dev) build instead - that's what I use.
