The satellite is the only thing in the game that has solar panels. Which is the only normal thing in the game other than the antennas on the drone battleship and the trees in residential stations
I remember the first time I found one of these. I was out mining in wild space (with a Yukon) when I ran into a new player mining with an otter. I remembered how difficult the game was for me in the beginning, so I befriended him and built him a Honey Badger, and gave him a tier IV tractor beam and tier IV Hull Regen. And so, we would begin a rather short-lived friendship. We were mining for a solid hour before he pointed out that there were aberrations around a planet without a ring (I was shocked, because I thought that X structures only spawned in rings; yes, I know I was wrong; yes, I now scan planets for aberrations). I told him that I had never seen anything like this before, and told him to wait behind just in case. I had never seen anything like it. I had been playing the game since alpha, and I didn't even know these things existed (I'm pretty unlucky). I noticed the access panel on the side, and wanted to take whatever was inside for myself. I told my friend to wait behind while I got away with the loot, but he got curious and wanted to check things out. I tried to rush the lock, and I got locked out. My friend opened the lock and got the beacon. I was angry, because I had been playing the game for over a year and never found anything like this. How could such a noob find something so great? I was struggling not to kill him. I didn't hate him, I just wanted the beacon. When he said he couldn't figure out the inscription, he handed it to me so I could figure it out. I suggested that we do a competition. Whomever could figure out how the map worked and where the loot was would keep it all for themselves. I took a screenshot of the map, and gave it back to him. I already knew how to search for it with the spectral class filter, so I got there long before he could even figure it out, but was disappointed to learn that I needed the beacon to get to the structure. I messaged him in chat and told him where I was. I told him that he could come, as long as I got to keep all the loot. He agreed. I eliminated the drone ships and looted three cores, and opened every chest. I told him he could come to the structure just so he could see what it was like. He was overjoyed. But then, he asked me for the drone cores. So far, my greed had only overwhelmed me. I wanted to kill him and keep the stuff for myself, but I realized how much that sort of betrayal would hurt a new player. I gave him a single core, and left after telling him that I was tempted to kill him. I wanted him to get away before I changed my mind. I still feel guilty. I haven't seen the player since then, but I know he hates me. I try to make up for it nowadays by helping other players find the locations on their beacons for free, but I don't know if I'll ever get to apologize to that new player. Nobody is immune to greed. Everyone has a breaking point.
This soundtrack, paired with the fact the satellite self destructs on front of you, really gives me the feeling I'm not supposed to be doing this, accidentally destroying history in pursuit of resources.
for people who find this too quiet: go to dev tools go to console insert this: var videoElement = document.querySelector("video") var audioCtx = new AudioContext() var source = audioCtx.createMediaElementSource(videoElement) var gainNode = audioCtx.createGain() gainNode.gain.value = 2 // double the volume source.connect(gainNode) gainNode.connect(audioCtx.destination) it will double the volume. you can change the value to higher though

Do you think catgirls would be normal? Due to the fact that we can modify our clones, it shouldn’t be too hard to make one.
@@coocato what
@@DeltaSignIsNotAvailable :trol:
@@coocato kavanis have more techology, they def have civilian custom genetic engineering (they have catgirls)
@@TheClownNextHouse yes, I agree, my essay on the addition of catgirls explains that

I used to play Starscape quite a lot, where is this ancient satellite?
I wonder what's the original soundtrack/music is called?
