true... but the answer is easy... in the movie was used a faster transcription... I was surprised too there are two different versions of Sarabande and got the answer why :)
Thank you. Brilliant performance!! And perfect tempo!!! Please, sir, don't mind the comments about the tempo. People don't understand that the soundtrack's arrangement was just that! An arrangement. A romantic arrangement which took liberties, one being the dragged tempo, in order to fit the director's purpose. People's obsession with "emotions" just make me laugh, "they didn't feel" - it's the only objection they can make.
I like it tempo and all. Tempo or any other parameter is always open to interpretation. That's why we call it "artistry" EDIT Okay, I checked some other renditions and I double fown on support for this version, cudos to this organist. The original is gloomy like drowning any sense of passion in a sea of molasses. This version actually puts some PASSION into the piece.
OK...comments about the tempo of the 'sarabande' aside...I'm more intrigued with the reversed colour of the keys on this instrument. Why? To me, this is 'form over function' carried to the extreme...
You completely failed to transport all the emotions from the original. Play it much slower and not in such a "just go through it" way. This is classical music and it should be played like that. I cannot but dislike this.
Wrong wrong wrong. I come at this fresh with no preconception. Maybe for orchestra slower tempo works but organ renditions at a slower tempo are like swimming in a pool of molasses, and quite devoid of passion.
@Captainmotion Wasn't Sarabande actually written for harpsichord? I also like this tempo, btw. If it got much slower it would be pandering to romanticism, I think, and this is after all part of a baroque suite (so much for the "emotions from the original", heh? It's dance music. ;) Not to belittle it - it's beautiful either way).
video played at 0.75 speed is way much emotional.
you are right!!

Personally I love this tempo

This version absolutely slaps. Love the tempo as it's a nice change.

Tried 0.75 and 1.25 as also normal. All are lovely in different ways.
Maravillosa obra. Beautiful música.
How very lovely 💐
Spettacolarmente maestosa !
I think of largo as passage "broadening"----Handel's Largo from Xerxes exemplifies this.
wow! sounds great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mächtig Klang!! Super!!!
Obwohl das Tempo etwas schnell ist.
Rein meiner amateurhaften meinung nach...
I think you should do some research on the term "Sarabande"
Best hendel piece ever
no mixture in part 1,2. sounds better with 8,4 ocatve/prinzipal or some Gedackt or something....
OK...comments about the tempo of the 'sarabande' aside...I'm more intrigued with the reversed colour of the keys on this instrument. Why? To me, this is 'form over function' carried to the extreme...
RockSteady Choir This is called an Oreo style keyboard.
Jesus, why so fast? Slow it down a bit.
Richard Metclaf 0.75 speed
@Justin F. Shouldn't have to. Playing it at that slower speed wrecks the sound quality.
Could use a little uptempo,
👍😲
SUPER!!!!!!! BEST
Treutel Mountain
What model organ is that?
To fast
Notable performance!!! But why the hell you call it "Barry Lyndon"???
It's in a movie called Barry Lyndon
In my opinion it's a litle too quick!
Too fast.
slower
Too fast. Without energy.
Too much fast.
ain't nobody got time for that
Richtig gesaght!
