  • We are delighted to share that the coral reef rehabilitation project in the south of Mauritius was launched officially last Monday, 9th of October at Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort. The ceremony was graced by Anil Currimjee, Chairman of Currimjee Jeewanjee, and Azim Currimjee, Managing Director of the Food and Beverages Cluster.
This visionary initiative, initiated in 2020, represents a collaborative effort between the MOL Mauritius International Fund for Natural Environmental Recovery and Sustainability, the Currimjee Foundation, the University of Mauritius, and esteemed marine biologist Nadeem Nazurally. Its goal is to restore the La Cambuse coral reef, combatting the effects of climate change and enhancing marine life in our lagoon, a formidable response to the pressing challenges posed by climate change. This endeavour is set to transform our lagoon into a thriving habitat, attracting an abundance of aquatic life.
