    Hi Bob we are new to wild camping and wondered if there is a reason not to fill the Motorhome with water before we go, i thought the point of a Motorhome is to do away with the bother of the aqua roll and waste water, your routine is very much still like when we had a caravan. I am guessing there is a reason i am missing that people dont carry water with them onboard, i imagine using more fuel is one but that would be set against not paying a site fee, is there another reason you dont fill up on site by the tap then let go the waste above their drain when you leave. Loving your vlog and have been following for a while now, learning so much new things.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 года назад

      We don't wild camp, we use sites generally so you're probably asking the wrong person. I only use the aquaroll when we are on sites like this time for 10 nights, so we don't need to move. Otherwise a full tank will last us 4 or 5 nights. I do travel with water in the tanks, but remember 1 litre of water weighs 1kg, so a full tank is like having another person on

    Hi bob interesting to see you,quite rightly,informing people to plug the cable into the motorhome or caravan before connecting to the outlet as you would be walking about with 240v.this really surprises me when i see people doing it the other way.however after you plugged the cable in you then coiled the cable up,yes loosely but you were then holding it while it was live.can i just say that if there is a break on the sheath you could be electrocuted.also the reason for not leaving it on the reel and leaving it loosely coiled is to prevent the cable overheating and going on fire.always think safety first.once again another great vlog and i hope you have a great time

    Hi Bob having watched a great number of your videos I sometimes wonder if a caravan would suit you better. You use your motorhome as a towing vehicle, then on site as a caravan! After your SECC videos you show you can get an outstanding caravan for a lot less than a motorhome. One of the reasons I've been considering a motorhome is so that I can do 70mph on the motorway (and use the outside lane) to speed up long journeys. Keep the videos coming they're great.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 года назад +3

      At the moment, yes a caravan would suit us better, on a site for several days. We do say that having the car towed behind us, makes it like a caravan. However we will prefer a motorhome when touring Scotland, France or later in the year, Ireland. Motorhome to us is more flexible, it's a caravan when it needs to be, or a motorhome at other times. Also I'm not convinced it's cheaper than car and caravan. Our car and Motorhome new costs about £74k. A similar size new caravan and suitable 4x4 car could cost £25k + £50k. Not to mention the cost of taxing a large luxury car. Tax on the Up! is just £20 a year! The motorhome is £165 a year.

    • @jimf4748
      @jimf4748 4 года назад

      I agree with all you say, although I bought my nice 4x4 estate when it was 2 years old and in as new condition at 11000 miles but 50% cheaper than new! Road tax is £135. One of the reasons I stuck with caravans for over 30 years is when I worked, I could tow my caravan with my company car - very cost effective. Now retired not so cost effective!! But, as I said in previous messages, we are definitely going to by a motorhome in the next 12 to 18 months. Enjoy the NEC and look forward to the videos.

    Can I ask why you always use the top hole in waste master and not the higher one at bottom. You would get more waste in plus easier to screw into? Personal preference I suppose.. Love the channel - I'm at the show Thursday.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 года назад +1

      The higher inlet on the waste master was designed for caravans where the waste outlet is higher than most motorhomes'. If I put it in there it probably wouldn't drain away.

    I'm always impressed with your video quality and filming, particularly the lighting indoors and in the van, and wonder which lighting you use and how you set it up relative to the camera. Is it only one light source? I have a GoPro8 and have just bought the Ulanzi 49 led light but although brightness can be adjusted it seems very bright and reflects in the lenses of glasses. I would be grateful if you have any tips which would assist with correct lighting. Many thanks
