I don’t think Joe is being targeted by anyone but his own mind. Rhys is a real person but Joe hasn’t been seeing or speaking to him. I think Joe has been stalking Kate and killing for her in the same way he always has but because he desperately wants to believe he has changed he’s created this extra persona. If you notice, Rhys does not interact with anyone else at all, only Joe. I think the only times Rhys has actually appeared is at the funeral to give a speech and on the TV in episode 5.

you watched the other RUclips video as well, guy had the same theory as you, and I think it makes sense, and I believe that theory.

Honestly that would be a relief bc Rhys being the culprit was highly boring for me
Rhys is a hallucination, sixth sense style. It's Joe sabotaging or challenging himself... He's got psychosis. Not one scene is Rhys seen talking to another member of the gang. When Joe talks to Rhys during a dinner party there is like a 3 second pause where everyone is looking around like.. is he talking to himself? Rhys could exist as person who really has a book and running got mayor but one Joe has never actually met and he's just the visual projection of his self reflective psychosis.
We'll see because they do mention Rhys while they are eating

Yeah but if you remember when they went to the trip to the mansion, Gemma states that she was upset Rhys couldn't make it on the trip.
When they were at dinner out in the country 2 waiters exchanged very suspicious looks the night Gemma came up deceased, I think it’s a group working against Joe not just one person

I noticed that and assumed they spit on the food or piss in the soup.
It’s just Joe working against himself. His awkward behavior when he’s talking to someone that isn’t there.
I believe they were just tired of being treated like that. Maybe they planned something, but they didn't get to actually do anything because Joe was faster.
The subtle foreshadowing about Phoebe in the Railway station was a nice details !!
I'm gonna be severely annoyed if they actually go with "It was all in his head the whole time" thng

LMAO I just saw a theory video that explains how rhys is actually part of joes imagination and that joes is actually the killer and he has a split personality so he doesnt remember any of the killings.
Not me. The only two things that would make sense. It’s either him or Love. Love never actually burned up and is stalking Joe. 😮How would anyone get that kind of information on Joe and all his crimes?

The name "Rhys" is Welsh and means ardent/passionate and is loosely translated as "love"'
Yeah I believe love is the reason he took of because he ran away from her after he might have known that she is alive and comes for revenge

Why thing is why no one is questioning him getting a brand new identity from love’s families assassin. To me, it’s almost like that guy did it deliberately for Love to know and follow joe. The assassin could’ve just been sent to find him rather than to kill him. Then secure a location for him to be in for love to arrive
That's a great point, I also found that odd! Another point is that the assassin insists on joe killing marienne - this could be love's order too, either out of jealousy or to get evidence of his murder. That said, I also believe the theory that rhys is in Joe's head (rhys is a real person and his appearance on TV and funeral are what I believe to be his only real appearances) and that all of Joe's interactions with rhys (aside from maybe the first time, when rhys heads off to berlin at the end of the chat) are in his head, with rhys being a split personality joe has created to cope with murdering again as he wants to believe he has changed and its easier to blame this other person while also chosing to manifest a person similar to himself. What I haven't seen anywhere though is a theory of my own. I believe nadia involved, and your theory about love actually would explain some parts that I wasnt able to figure out, like how nadia would know who joe is. Nadia tells us herself, there are no coincidences. Yet she happens to suggest a book to joe that is very similar to Joe's own life story, runs into him 'randomly' a few times, conveniently knows everything about the genre joe needs to know about and is dealing with. There could be multiple things at play, maybe nadia is planted by love. I was trying to see if anybody else had a theory about nadia but couldn't find anything, but I saw an interview with her actress who talked about playing nadia and some answers sounded to me like we were going to see a different side to her. Also, isn't another murder mystery trope "its always the one you least suspect"? Interestingly she didn't mention that one to joe
@@rencunin did you notice how rhys leaves joe after their first chat with "see you around jonathan" even tho joe never introduced himself? i just noticed this and thought it was odd.
i dont think simon/malcolm have the same killer as gemma. whereas simon/malcolm had their finger/ear cut off to be used to frame joe, we were never told if gemma had the same thing happened to her. i believe gemma wasn't killed by rhys and instead by either the staff or one of the rich, im unsure who exactly i just think gemma has a separate killer with a different motive
Potentially phoebe, she never liked Gemma and when she heard bout it all she wasn't shocked at all. She was the first person to come into the room which could've been an excuse as she didn't expect both of them to be in the room, probably only Kate.

Rhys could also not be a real person, he could be an imaginary enemy Joe created in his mind to ignore the fact that he remained a cold-blooded-killer and hasn't changed. He did have multiple hallucinations in past seasons. I also don't think Rhys has been seen interacting with anyone but Joe in the show. However Joe couldn't have killed Gemma as if I remember right he was in an altercation with Roald. and if Rhys is an imaginary character in Joe's mind then it wasn't Rhys. Even if we exclude Kate we still can't really figure out who killed Gemma.

I think it was something about hallucinating because at the dinner scene in episode 2 joe is talking to Rhys (himself) and Adam notices and says something. Then phoebe distracts before the rest of the group could really focus on what was happening. I think she was trying to protect him from being seen as crazy by talking to himself.
The train station scene is in London before Mariane leaves for Paris. It is shot in St Pancras if I’m not mistaken. It is the station that has the underwater train to Paris.
The shot with the newspaper with Phoebe on it is in London, not Paris. That's when he saw Marienne go back to Paris and explained how he stole her necklace to make it seem as if he killed her.
there are so many questions and theory's which makes it even more exiting for me cus there is still so much that could happen with plot twists and whatever else, can't wait to see part 2

I think Nadia is the one sending messages to joe. When the news broke about Malcom's death (start of ep3) during class there was a short scene where we see nadia reach down and a min later joe gets a message along the lines of "do I have ur attention now". And right before the death news, joe was asking his students what they thought about the stalker in the book amd Nadia defended the stalker saying it was love. I feel that also getting rid of Kate was simply because Nadia got jealous at how close they got (Joe and Kate). It's very possible that Nadia has an obsession over teachers and it's not unlikely she has one on joe since she slept with malcom. Its her pattern.
Rhys definitely has something to do with the murders and so my theory is that he and nadia are working together since it was Nadia that introduced Rhys to joe via his book. They are probably want to help poor people since they have a modest background.

I think rhys was a real person killed by Joe and now he is living the book but the books was actually written by Joe and soon we will see him on the cover. I think he even lives in his apartment because he can't afford it! So the best finale would be Joe killing ryhs but he is killing himself then!!!
Did anyone ever thought about that girl that called him Joe in the library in s.3 ? I wonder if all the survivors working together to bring him down in s.4 including Love. Bec many people know parts of the truth right!!!
But I always thought that love us behind it all. If she is real of course. She is worse than Joe anyway
I believe love faked her death by taking out her own teeth because we had that funny scene in s.3 when she asked about that neighbor lady where her teethI thought about that maybe Beck wrote down about Joe and his stalker found that but I believe love is alive and she is pulling the strings

IMHO you can safely watch it. It pauses in a very well thought out plot point. It looks to me like the two parts were planned from the beginning. It's so good as well that one episode feels like at least two. I was thinking about waiting too but I'm glad I didn't. I don't think that it would be worth the risk of possible spoilers.
