    Bravo to you, Mikey, for having testers! Every designer who publishes designs needs to do this. (Also anyone who publishes recipes, too, BTW.) It is SO important and the fastest/easiest way to find any mistakes in the directions. Thank you for mentioning that.

    This is the prettiest crocheted pumpkin ever. Mike, you're an amazing crocheter, designer and tutor. Don't worry about too much fibre stuffing. After some cuddling and squeezing of the pumpkin, the stuffing will shrink a bit, believe me. I love this challenging design. And thank you for the pattern and diagram too.

    Love this pattern. Super cute and unique looking pumpkin, as I have never seen cables done for pumpkins before! Love that idea!
    I do have one suggestion. I had massive holes where the stuffing was showing through on the first decrease round (round 32). So I went back and, for round 32, instead of skiping the framing posts, I did my FPDC around both the post and the side posts of the braids together.
    In other words, for Round 32: SC, HDC2tog, FPDC first framing posts and first post of first braid together, FPDC next 2 posts of first braid
    FPDC next framing posts and first post of middle braid togeather, FPDC middle post of middle braid, FPDC last post of middle braid and next framing post togeather
    FPDC first and middle posts of last braid (separately), FPDC last post and last framing post together, HDC2tog, SC
    Repeat for each braid section.

    I made 2 of these, mainly because my co worker wanted the one I made for my desk so I offered to make her one. While waiting, she received permission to have mine on her desk - we’re calling it the ‘emotional support’ pumpkin now… 😆. Thank you, Mikey, for the great pattern and tutorial! Another winner!

    Thanks for this wonderful pattern and excellent instruction! I wish I could share a photo... it turned out so cute! I ran out of the color I was using & had to finish with a darker shade, which I didn't like. But being on a time crunch (the party is in just over an hour!!!) I couldn't go get more yarn or start over. But then you said we could flip it over, and that totally solved my dilemma! Now the darker color just looks like a shadow on the bottom. Perfect. ❤

    This was an amazingly fun and beautiful project!
    Thank you for the design, best on YT!
    Tip: I felt that there was a bit too much gaping in the top of my pumpkin final rounds- so I solved it by changing the last rounds to half doubles.
    It helped to thicken up just enough. Could be my yarn choice.
    I was using from a cache of Big Twist Chunky Natural - used a 6mm hook & it took 1.5 skeins.
    Looks so posh and modern in this with a very Aran feel. Goes well in a country, modern country cottage, boho decor.
    I plan to make it some partners in other companion colours in different sizes and styles.
    Oh- I also used Jimmy Beans Wool little bites ShibuMaai in pollen for the stem twists- and 3 cinnamon sticks bundled for stem.

    I’m not sure what to do. I love these pumpkins, but there’s a couple differences in the printed pattern and the tutorial. The one I’m dealing with now is the repeat of rows 12-15. The video says to repeat 3 times, the pattern I printed says to repeat 12-15 four times for rows 16-31. Which way is correct?

    • @DKCGamerGirl
      @DKCGamerGirl Год назад +1

      He said to repeat it 3 times after doing it once, for a total of 4 repeats, as in the written pattern. :)
      Edit: Ok, I finished the 4th repeat and am on row 27... So maybe just add another repeat for a total of 4 repeats, so you do rounds 12-15 5 times. That's what I am going to do, as that gets you to round 31.

    • @rue215
      @rue215 11 месяцев назад

      I’m confused by this as well, even in the video though it says repeat 3 times, it then skips to row 32 (when it would’ve been row 28)... I’ll probably also just do an extra repeat to fix it

    • @deborahterry2017
      @deborahterry2017 11 месяцев назад

      There is also a mistake between video and printed pattern on row 4. Not sure now if I should go on, looks like there are a lot of mistakes. :-/

  • @sherrystengel9673
    @sherrystengel9673 Год назад

    I have made 3 of the large pumpkins, relying on help from the tutorial. I couldn’t have done them without it. I would love to make a few small pumpkins using a tutorial. Will there be a tutorial for it? I have started a small one a couple different times, but I don’t feel like I’m doing it right.

  • @jennapickhardt5243
    @jennapickhardt5243 9 месяцев назад

    Maybe I missed something but after you repeat rounds 12-15 three more times, wouldn't you then be on round 28? To be on round 32 you would repeat 4 more times, not 3. Am I counting wrong?

    There is a discrepancy between the video and the written pattern on Row 4. The pattern states "1sc in the next st. 2 hdc in next st. Skip next st ,3dcfp around next st. Skip next st. 2 hdc in next st. 1 sc in next st. This tutorial says to do 1 dcfp around each of the next 3 stitches. Does anyone that has completed the pumpkin know which set of instructions is the right one?
