Yeah you should see more of their songs LIVE. I recommend “We are” Ambitions Japan Dome tour. He was under the weather there but still delivered a great performance. And that song was the last song in that 2-hour concert.
As others have written, Taka's parents are famous Enka singers, and his mother in particular has a beautiful high-pitched voice. I've heard that people who learn foreign languages quickly, in addition to that kind of environment, have good ears to pick up sounds. Please give Taka's "Hello" a listen.

nope he wasn't. He attended Keio Senior High School, which is a private school but it's a Japanese school. and he dropped out at age 16 anyways. he hated studying. That's why he had a big fight with his parents and then went his own way. His English was nowhere near this good in early songs. Even in earlier interviews, like, 10-12 years ago, he struggled a lot to express himself in English. His Ebglish got better when he moved to LA

I think I remember it from an old interview that he’s good at English or have good English pronunciation because of his school. I just searched and according to wikipedia, Keio is prestigious private secondary schools in the Tokyo area which emphasizes English education as well as information technology in its curriculum. So yea, it’s not an International school per se, but it helped taka’s basic skill in English.
