I ordered a rose from them this year and it should be arriving soon, this video makes me so excited.
Yay! Which one?
I got Bathsheba, she is gorgeous and I hope she does well here!
@@SoilandMargaritas Yes, she is on my wishlist as we speak!
I've been wanting "New Dawn" for a long time as it's the meaning of my name. Looking forward to the Rose alley development. 🌹
It is a lovely one that does bloom a lot! I can't wait to really get started on the Rose Alley too.
Can’t to wait to see them on a garden tour. 🌹
Me too!! I am dying to get started on it.
Loved your video here! My David Austin roses arrived too soon for our Zone 6 as it's only in the 30s (where they shipped from in Texas was 50-55 degrees). So I was soaking them in my garage but can't plant them outside yet as it's too cold. I called David Austin and they said I could soak them for up to a week in my garage. I was worried about that and was so happy to find your helpful hints here today! Yay!
Yes, though I am a zone 8 they always ship them when I am knee deep in snow. So I am always prepared to pot them up until I can plant them outside.
I've had mine planted outdoors ever since late February. I'm getting 3 inch shoots already. My instructions said to prune the canes just above the buds coming out. I have the dwarf apricot one next to the front fence. I'll do a video on my channel later on when it starts filling in. Also my instructions said to well water them for 3 weeks.
If yours are newly planted you don't need to prune at all, they were pruned before you got them for the season. If you are getting rain then watering is not necessary but if you aren't them keeping them watered is essential to their surviving.
I have 2 new dawn roses, over an arbor. I planted in 2019, this is the most blooms I’ve had this season, I finally trained it. It’s right in front of my living room window and it’s so pretty to see the butterflies loving it.
Great, I do know mine bloomed profusely for me and seemed to be non-stop all summer. I can't wait for this one to get established!
I always think it's exciting to pot up bear Route roses.
It is, especially as you can see how hearty the roots are and you know that will translate into a healthy, vibrant rose.
Thank you very much, a useful video. Looking forward to seeing your Rose alley.
Coming soon! I know I am going to have fun with it. It is going to take some work but I love it.

Yes, you never know from one season to the next what will survive our crazy weather! But it is exciting and it gives us a reason to fill in with a new to us plant we want to test out if something doesn't make it.
Thank you!@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
