Just got the Red/White version a week ago. Absolutely perfect for in city and dirt road riding. Love the feel of this bike: responsive, zippy, chunky and so smooth to ride for the type of bike it is. Absolutely love it and super impressed with Royal Enfield - a brand I’d only been cursorily aware of prior to researching this bike for purchase.

I actually like the Scram a lot, but the Himalayan just comes with more practical equipment at a similar cost. If the Scram came with a centre stand at least it would be a bit more even, if they could give it tubeless wheels then even better. Also the Scram seat is much better than the Himalayan's!

Also It feels like it has no torque and the gears are too long compared to the 12 other bikes I've owned. Now thinking about it I wonder if the sprockets were changed since I bought it used with 4km but it had a lot of extras on it.

As a world language, English has many "proper" variations. English is an official language of the Philippines as well as India, where the Himalayan (hiMAlayan) was created. Just because a word is pronounced differently in different versions of English doesn't mean that either pronunciation is wrong. I wouldn't tell a Brit or an American they're wrong when one takes a lift and the other an elevator. Neither would I say one was wrong for saying "KFC don't..." or the other is wrong for saying "KFC doesn't...". Vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation are different amongst the "proper" variations of English throughout the world.

Certainly looks better than himalayan. However I wish they had kept the 21" front wheel, due to crappy roads where I live. Is a 21" front an option for the Scran as they're basically the same bike?

Fork is slightly different but highly likely still compatible

I think the scram failed in India. I haven't seen a single one out on the roads yet. While the hunter was out and about in hordes after launch

Can I ask why it failed in India? Is there anything about the bike on rougher roads or in South Asian conditions that I should know?

When you are so fixed on Top-Speed ............ YOU DONT NEED A RE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The "SCRAM" is a stylish trendsetter-Bike for everytimeuse .....
The "Himalayan" is more a universal-use-Bike with great performance in Off-Road (21 in Frontweel)
    The Himalayan has a Center-Stand, Crash-bars and an Rear-back-Carrier ... and a way better Instrumental-block .....
So ... in my opinians the Himalayan is the way better RE .......
