Dr. Grande, the way you made that "Butterfly effect" connection at the end about how the Father being abusive to his son caused a chain reaction- masterful.
4/8/23 Sad these young girls were targeted and it took years to find out the horror and truth of what these girls endured by these predators!! Rip, Laurie and Ashley 💔 Outside Agency should of done the investigation Conflict of Interest with local le!! Justice failed these Victims!
It was partially covered by a sheet of plywood type paneling that had fallen off the wall of the trailer. The investigators never bothered to figure out what that large, human sized pice of "debris" under it was. When the Freemans went out to see if they could find clues investigators might have missed (guess they had a good hunch about the quality of investigative work), Mr. Freeman lifted the edge of the sheet by himself because it wasn't heavy and realised that what was under it was a human body. It makes me sick to think that the investigators didn't admit after that that they were obviously making huge mistakes and call for assistance from the state, the FBI, etc. If they had done so, it's possible that Lauria and Ashley could have been rescued. I have to wonder if the local law enforcement just hated the Freemans so much that they didn't care. That they thought "good riddance to bad rubbish." And maybe even gave a thought to the possibility that Lauria and Ashley were still alive and just didn't care--not their daughters, not their problem.
There is an interesting case in Germany of a father who allegedly killed his son because he was born with a disability. He made it seem like a robber and claimed the perpetrators rolled the kid’s stroller into a river. Can you analyse it?
Tragic yet intriguing video Dr. Grande! In the future, would it be possible for you to make a video about all of the differential diagnosis for schizophrenia? It would be fascinating to learn about what can mimic this particular illness.
Lots of reasons why Ronny may not want to reveal the bodies. Maybe the location of the body will reveal he was the only killer. His confession makes it look like he wasn’t that involved.

RDB is set for release this month after serving only 5 years for these crimes. Oklahoma parole system and laws has some seriously bad guidelines if you are victim or victim’s family member. It seems particularly awful if the victim is a young woman or teen girl.

How about some charges for Phil's girlfriend in whose trailer the girls were held and who undoubtedly further aided the trio after, and probably before, the crime?
Good evening, Dr. Grande! Apparently, Danny Freeman kept some rough company. Birds of a feather and all that. And yet again the law enforcement agency involved in investigating this crime screwed up big time. They also had no proof that Ronnie was involved in the murders and kidnapping, regardless of his "horrible" personality. Thanks for sharing.
So chilling to think they could’ve found those girls Alive. had they followed that lead immediately - apparently there was chatter around town almost immediately afterward and townsfolk had said “everyone knew” who did it
Ugh. This case has always stuck with me. And, for anyone who has ever driven through and explored the small town of Pitcher, you’ll get the grisly feeling that those two girls bodies have been resting in a sinkhole or in a chat pile somewhere. Two needles in a huge haystack. They’re out there somewhere. Peace be with them.
I don't know if I'll make it all the way through this one. Naw - I'll watch it tomorrow morning when it's sunny. I remember this terrible crime; some people really should be categorized as subhuman.
Such a sad and horrific story. I remember when this happened. The cops had stepped on Danny Freeman in that burnt rubble. I feel so sad for both families. Thank you, Dr. Grande, for doing this story ❤
As if her life wasn’t sad enough, living in a trailer with your POS drug dealer parents. To then have them get murdered, you and your friend, who wouldn’t be there had it not been your birthday, escaped, just to be found and taken for DAYS and we know what bad men do to little girls, and then be killed. If this really happened this is so sad. She was excited to get her license and had saved 4Gs! Omfg it makes me sick. These cops are also GARBAGE.
Just hearing the names in the beginning LOL my grandmother was named Lorene; my grandfather Jerry - so they named my mother Jerene! Mom went by Jeri, but she married a guy named Thomas - so our parents are Tom and Jeri!

As a resident of a small rural community I think you were a little hard on the police in this case. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the first murder their one detective had ever investigated. I'm not saying they didn't drop the ball, they absolutely did. Only saying that small town police aren't staffed or equipped to investigate much of anything past assault and traffic violations. Another possibility is some of the police were "on the take" as cooking meth can be quite lucrative.
This is Interesting because too many times lately news has fire stories. Where the Delphi story is, there's a flora town close. That house burnt and they say kids died too. I wonder how they didn't make a sound even early on news . So the Delphi town had a fire earlier..and it wasn't said any passed. But the girls missing and found also fit the topic.
Who are the witnesses who saw the "allegedly" saw the pictures of the kidnapped girls?!!? Did they go to the police?? I never heard this part of the story before

For grades 1-12, our family lived in the Freeman House (name of my great aunt who sold us the house). I am curious what type of investigative methods were used to solve the case, they are so slow. Great reference to Frank Drebin and Inspector Clouseau! Those two are great dopey investigators! Great short about narcissism and faking emotive empathy, that makes a lot of sense. I do remember people saying that they "know what it is like" for certain misfortunes, but they do not seem to be able to feel the same thing (or want to feel the same thing).
What kind of shotgun was used. Hmmm....I have a one in lets see (.410, 20, 16, 12, 10...those are the modern ones, with 12 being the most common...) Oooh, ooooh, I know this one! It was a 12 gauge shotgun!
Tragic event. It seems so strange that the insurance card was left at the scene of the crime. I wonder if one of the girls had managed to get access to the glove box, and throw the contents out of the car. No matter how it ended up being left at the scene the police overlooking that significant piece of evidence likely cost those girls their lives. Another sad example of terrible police work.
I believe the Ins.card was found in the driveway. Probably fell out of the car. Stupid LE did nothing right away on that clue. They messed up big time. Maybe they could have saved the girls if they moved quickly on the Auto Ins. Card.

This reminds me of the missing Sodder children from West Virginia. To this day, not a trace of them. Their house burned too. RIP Ashley and Laura. 🙏
One of the saddest stories. I can't even imagine what those poor girls went through in there last moments
I was imagining the very same thing. Heartbreaking & needless. Dr. Grande described it well, how one decision can lead to multiple unintended consequences. LE’s ambivalence regarding the case did not help.

Especially thinking that they may have escaped them, only to be found and murdered, God knows what else they did to them. ❤ had the father made better choices perhaps his fam might not have been killed..
Absolute terror unless they were drugged
I saw this story on one of those network crime shows. The fact that the insurance card was ignored boggles my mind.
The cops repeatedly do these kinds of things. When they hone in on whatever theory they have, they choose to ignore anything that would lead them off that path.
What a nightmare those poor girls had to endure! The mere thought of it is too much to bear.
Those 3 men had these 2 girls for 2 weeks and did everything they wanted to them

So sad for those innocent girls.

A combination of gross incompetence and utter indifference due to having a grudge with the Freeman family.
