I own a 2023 MINI Cooper S Convertible, Iconic trim, in nanuq white metallic, which is essentially the same vehicle as the ‘24 model, but a bit less expensive. And of course, the convertible will always be noisier than the coupe because of the canvas roof. Would I change my car for a ‘25 coupe? NO! Even though the coupe looks nicer in the exterior, especially in that ocean wave green, the F56 generation MINI is more ergonomically friendly, I believe because it has knobs, toggle switches, and buttons, which are easier, and safer while driving than the new F66 generation which rely almost exclusively on touching the infotainment screen. Also, I appreciate having the instrument cluster right in front while I’m driving, instead of that pop-up screen that obstructs frontal visibility in the ‘25 model. I also appreciate the fact that in my car I can opt for manipulating a knob to control the infotainment screen instead of exclusively relying on touching the screen in the ‘25 model, and smudging the glass in the process. One thing though that I wish my car had is the adaptive cruise control that is available in the ‘25 model Iconic trim. Although I’ve driven the 2025 MINI Countryman, and I think that I would prefer that vehicle over the ‘24 Countryman- more power, more cargo space, more luxury items.
Another side note is in USA paddle shift are only on the JCW and that touchscreen I have another review coming on the 25 Countryman it wasn’t working and I couldn’t do anything with the vehicle including the climate control. I like the 25 but the 24 and under I still like a little more 👍
We have an 18 plate Cooper convertible which we absolutely love ❤️
Everything you praise in your comments is exactly what we love about ours too !!
Damn, not only did MINI neuter the new model by taking away its 'pipes', but it now sounds wimpy when you rev it. 🙁
It’s definitely different 😁👍
Can agree more. The older one sounds so much better.
Great review Anthony. Personally I prefer the 24 for looks and that sweet exhaust note. The both look super fun to drive but too low to the ground for this guy lol 😁 Happy Friday to you and wishing you a great weekend!
Yeah I would go for the 24 and I agree it is low to the ground but they are fun vehicles. Thanks James
Thanks for this. We’ve just ordered the 2024 convertible, we pick it up on Friday.
@@DisneyMarkUK congratulations they are awesome 👍
@@HawkeyeRidesThank you 😊
2024 for me
They both are nice but I like the sportier style 👍
I'll definitely keep my 2024 mini cooper s. New one looks cheap and the design is bland.
Its a little too cleaned up 👍
New one sounds like a lawnmower.
It’s different 👍
+ for new are the powered driver seat and gloss wheel arches and rocker panels (JCW option). - for the exhaust note and dash.
Good points 👍
You left off important fact that that new mini Cooper 2 door S does not have paddle shifters. That’s a deal breaker for me. While the dual clutch transmission is great I also enjoy manually shifting. That they left off paddle shifters on the two door Cooper S really unbelievable.
The JCW for the USA market will be the only Mini to have Paddle shifters but the Europe market will have it with the sports package added to the S trim.
2024 hands down! They moved away from the exhaust and the feel of being in a cockpit. There is a difference
It’s definitely a new mini
The 24 seems so much more substantial of a car than the 25. They made the 25 quirky and disposable.
@@chrislim7976 it will take time to get used too
2024 any day
@@aurelio280 they are cool vehicles
Mini fucked up BIG TIME with the 2025 models. The interior is awful on so many levels. The dash and doors have this nasty abrasive texture that is a dirt and dust magnet and near impossible to clean. Then they put that massive screen in the center that looks like ass. The looks on the outside are mundane and terrible. Just everywhere you look, this thing is a travesty!
It isn’t everyone’s cup of tea 👍
It has no masculine redeeming qualities to it. It’s officially a feminine car. Paint it pink & Barbie would love it.
Il ont même fait des économies sur les baguettes crome 😄 puis fini le 5eme passager, sur la nouvelle il y a une grosse bosse au milieu du siège pour eviter de monter à 5 personnes
I'm not convinced why I should upgrade my '19 Cooper S 2-door for a 2025. I love my pops and bangs!
@@sertacsilbastan I agree but the 2024 is awesome
@@HawkeyeRides But not the 2025? 😆
@sertacsilbastan I’m not use to it yet 😁
@@HawkeyeRides I feel like 2025 Cooper JCW will be a better choice. Can't wait for that one to drop so I can really think about upgrading mine.
@sertacsilbastan that is always the best way to go and I am looking forward to the John Cooper Works
in the '25 there are two trims - Signature (Plus) and Iconic - the JCW "trim" is for overseas we'll get a "real" JCW later this fall/winter and it will be (as it should be) it's own model not a trim. MINI has consolidated trims (again) for the current model year ('25) added more content in those trims and actually lowered the prices a bit when compared to the '24 model year if optioned close to what the '25 has.
I didn’t find any less money and we are getting a JCW as well, that model will have the paddle shifts, exterior body kit and more power.
Too many aspects of driver involvement have gone with the 2025 model. Gear lever, paddle shifters, handbrake, iDrive controller, toggle switches. And they've taken away the seat extenders and seatback map pockets. I might get used to the exterior rear view but the front is just too plain.
Surprised the window sticker shows the engine is from Germany as thought all MINI engines were made at Hams Hall in England.
Good comparison Anthony.
Yeah they changed a lot and the engagement is what makes a Mini 👍
I just got a used 2013
I really want a modern one now😂
They are fun vehicles congratulations
I had a 2013 manual, loved it but wanted a new one, got the 2024 manual. Maybe younger people will want the 2025.
2024 👍❤
They are awesome
The new mini sounds awful . Like a vacuum cleaner 😅
It’s a new sound lol
From the comparison, is it better to spend the money on the new Mini?
First impressions I would go 2024 and spend the increase on a JCW but the ride comfort is a completely different vehicle. If you like the more engaged feel and more firm suspension go to 2024 or under. If you like a more soft drive but it can be tire happy go 2025.
2024 sound better and with both exhaust
