Important info for all drivers who see high variability in the winter driving these days! I have Toyo’s on my VW sports wagon and find them awesome in the northern winters! Great video!
I have run a set of Toyo Observe Gsi5 for the last 4 winters on my GM full size pickup. These tires are Amazing for my daily commute and hands down my only option for winter tires. Great review.
Got caught in New Brunswick on the 108 with icy roads and 1cm of fresh snow. My Ram was left in 4wd auto mode and not once did the traction control or abs come on. These tires are worth the $$$
Because of this video I ordered 4 of them for my subaru outback. They arrived today and the tread is impressive! No doubt the outback will be a beast this New Hampshire winter. Thanks for the great video!
Nice video Justin very informative. Hope all those Pick- up owners that think just because they are in a 4x4 they don't need winter boots watch this video. Have seen many of those guys in the ditch.
I had driven most of my driving years on all terrain tires for my 4X4's. One fall, my tires were too warn for another winter but would be good enough for one more summer. So I decided to get a set of Blizzaks for my full size Chevy Sport truck. It was a revelation. The grip and control was unbelievable. Several years later I just had a new set of AT tires installed on my FJ Cruiser and decided to try and run them all winter. It was horrible with ABS and traction control working overtime. I had to use 4Hi most of the winter. The next winter it was time for Nokian Hakkape...SUV tire and the differences were unbelievable. All the electronic nannies worked perfectly. Imagine driving on a road just covered in ice. Jamming the brakes and swerving right to left in complete control. I couldn't believe it. I was so good, I only used 4Hi when I needed it to get going. Otherwise it was 2Hi and let the computer do its thing. The vehicle stability control reacts much faster than I can and keeps it tracking where the wheels are pointing. Its even better than 4Hi in really slippery conditions. I now run an all weather set for summer and fall, but they don't even come close to the winter tires in slippery winter stuff. I just got them for late fall hunting and I switch to winter tires when the time comes. My vehicle is pretty old so I can just imagine how well the newer electronic nannies work now.
Having tested both on two different trucks that has no trouble running either, I did find the michelin's slightly better on breaking feel on hard pack, and I don't remember being as surprised by the michelins about the noise levels as I was with the toyos Hope that helps, I'm recommending both side by side to friends and family this year
It is a shame you cannot convince young people who have never experienced winter tires to try them. So, they will never know. A shame because the difference between all season and winter tires is unbelievable.

Interesting!! I too have an Outback, it's on Michelin x-ice (another favorite pick). Good tires on that machine = unstoppable!!
Those toyo can litterally brake on ice crazy

It will be like $10 in gas to go over there and back from your mom's but maybe if you go get the tires you could get some.
