    Correction amigo:
The tier-1 visa was a route to UK citizenship via investment of £2m, £5m or £10m in order to obtain Indefinite Leave to Remain ILR (permanent residency) over 5yrs, 3yrs or 2yrs respectively. To qualify for ILR, the investor needed to spend no less than 9 calendar months in the UK per any one year, if breached, the whole thing wouldn't work out in favour of the investor.
So your claim of being able to invest in the UK without the need to live there is incorrect, please stop misinforming the public.

Sounds like there is going to be a lot of pain in the West as the politicians try to figure out how to tax everyone to pay for everyone.

I partially do agree with you, however you need to keep in mind its Oligarchs that keep Putin in power. Its symbiotic relationship. So by targeting Oligarchs they are trying to directly put pressure on Putin. But you are right, many of those Oligarchs stole from Russia but doesn't mean they necessarily have any connections with Putin. It is concerning, due to emotional nature of the situation people put aside consequences of such actions.
I am not against targeting Oligarchs close to Putin, but in that case I will ask then why did you let them in UK to begin with?

At current moment in a country with relatively low taxes - 66% of the ordinary guy income is collected as taxes (including VAT but excluding transport, rent food and necessities) To be a human in the same country you need to work at 2 jobs.
