    I love how in the past few episodes there's always been a convenient cave, or mine handy for them to hide their mechs in or travel through. It's like night-boat.
    ....night mech?

      Look Michael. A fjord!

    one of the many reasons this show was relegated to "poorly made holovid drama' in the official battletech game setting. :)

  • @Agett
    @Agett 11 лет назад +5

    To expand on this, when the Timber Wolf was first seen the IS targeting computers couldn't identify it by profile. It would Cycle MAD (Marauder) and CAT (Catapult) designations since it looks to be an amalgamation of the two.

      Itziclinic I believe that is correct, the first episode, they didn’t know what it was

  • @glitterboy2098
    @glitterboy2098 12 лет назад +2

    Timber Wolf is the clan name for what the inner Sphere called the Mad Cat. when the clans invaded, their mechs were completely unknown, so the Inner Sphere gave them reporting names. so many clan mechs have two names. the clan name, and one the inner Sphere uses.

    The 12th Donegal Guards were wiped out during the clan invasion. Good for General Hawksworth to get Victor out of the fighting,

    First off, in Lethal Heritage; Victor's mech was a Victor, not a Mauler, and Cox piloted a Crusader, not a Centurion. And they did get Galen Cox's hair colour wrong too.

  • @micksquizzy
    @micksquizzy 10 лет назад +3

    ugh, on trell I Victor didn't pilot a Centurion, he piloted a 'Mech called a Victor, and Galen piloted a Crusader, the only thing they got right at 6:00 were the quotes and the Thor they were fighting

    • @glitterboy2098
      @glitterboy2098 9 лет назад +2

      ***** Trellwan was also a planet that tended to mountains and glaciers, not deserts. errors like that, as well as the general cornyness of the show, is why the tabletop game's setting has relegated the events of this TVshow to being an 'in universe' TVshow.. basically in the game's setting, it was a TVshow as well, made years after the clan invasion and all the historical accuracy of Xena:warrior princess. :)

    5:00 Jeez, it's a good thing these Clan Mechs don't heat up otherwise that Mad Cat would be on fire. I mean, two Cl. ER. Large Lasers in each arm going off like that is crazy.

  • @SulliMike23
    @SulliMike23 13 лет назад +1

    @GhostBear3067 1) Kommandant is the equivalent of Major in House Steiner.
    2) There are a couple of configurations of the Centurion that ARE jump capable.

  • @kensei1984
    @kensei1984 17 лет назад +1

    You are correct, they are in the wrong mechs in the cartoon.
    Plus I imagined Galen to be a bit older and less apprehensive about working with Dracs.

  • @Servellion
    @Servellion 15 лет назад +1

    I was thinking the same. I mean it's really freaking hard to screw up what Victor's original mech was before he moved on to his Dire Wolf, Prometheus.

  • @glitterboy2098
    @glitterboy2098 12 лет назад +1

    actually, twin CERLL only generate 24 heat, and the Timber Wolf has 15 double heat sinks, allowing it to sink up to 30. as long as the mech doesn't add in it's ER mediums or LRM's at the same time, it would remain nice and cool.
    the video games tended to nerf heat sink effectiveness to try and make things more dramatic.

    I'm thinking that Stevens may have been an agent for Katrina Steiner, especially since he speaks of "factions within the Federated Commonwealth who favor a more worthy successor to the throne..."

      That's her, but as a staunch Davionist (and to keep from getting confused), always kept calling her "Katherine". I know she changed her name to Katrina, but that was just political maneuvering.

    for me, it's either the wolfhound or the victor, customize the gear and watch me go. I had a wolfhound that could drop an atlas once, granted the wolfhound would often be either horribly damaged or destroyed after the atlas went down, but hey, ends justify the means.

    @GhostBear3067 although Pryde is famous as a Jade Falcon khan name, it is here referred to as the sakhan of the unofficial sect clan ice demons, who are embedded secretly in the clan Ice Hellions, whose job is to cordinate with the diamond sharks to keep the clans in line.(as set down by Kerensky himself)

  • @Servellion

    Not as hard as it may seem. Though I say this from the perspective of someone whose been taught in making 3D models, but I catch your drift. Though I must admit I like the blocky-ness of alot of the Inner Sphere designs as it is fairly easy to make them

    I don't really mind much about Clan Wolf, they're the writers poster boys in CBT.
    It's a kids (preteen) saterday morning cartoon. It's not going to adhere to the Battletech fluff.

    notice how low-quality the animations were... and the limited number of mechs they drew. no way they're gonna animate a victor when they can just reuse a centurion
    and anytime you see a centurion in this cartoon you can probably be sure it's gonna get blown up, hahaha

    Seriusly clans don't eject?, doesn't that go against their don't waist policy?
    Manpower is an invaluable recourse a high end warrior can be a turning point in a battle, 3ton battle computer vrs a 180, 200pound Mechwarrior, one of these can be spared and one is a waist of recorcess

    • @hoffhammer
      @hoffhammer 7 лет назад

      Failure is worse that WASTE. Failing and surviving a battle is dishonorable and humiliating. Clan MechWarriors want to die in battle and not live to old age. That's why they make fun of Pytor in this series.

    • @JohnSmithAprilMay
      @JohnSmithAprilMay 6 лет назад +1

      In the game lore: Zellbrigen, the clan version of chivalry, is a formal agreement that applies only to duels. Clan mechwarriors are at the top of their caste-based society, and are too valuable to waste. No clan mech is manufactured without an ejection seat - not even mechs designed solely for dueling, like the Hunchback IIC. As for failure being worse than death, clanners have mastered a form of semantics that turns every failure into a near success. The only failures that really count are the ones that can be viewed objectively by other clans, which would have political consequences. Clan intelligence is almost always awful, so it would have to be a BIG failure.

    @GhostBear3067 Although not considering yourself a Jade Falcon, all Clan members, whatever Clan they belong to, respect all Khans and SaKhans from each of the Clans. So while you might be a Ghost Bear, you should not insult a Khan of Clan Jade Falcon so freely.
