I've been looking at portable radios lately. The tuning knob is physically moving a tuning string, truly retro design. I have a few small portable radio's, I'd love a big feature packed big one but prices are over AU$500, it ain't gonna happen in a hurry. Lol.🍻👍🤓📻
As an alternative, you could also use (3) D-Cell plastic inserts. The plastic inserts accept AA-Cells into them. D-Cell inserts is what I use in my GE Superadio III. (6) 2000Mah AA Panasonic Eneloops.
Agree 100000% this is a great little radio but with D cell today (FOR ME) this was a waste of space and compatibility was better if powered by 18650 or old school AA!!!
Hi, H R Dude. Your review was brilliant, I particularly liked how you more or less skipped the USB and TF playback, other reviewers usually dedicate the whole video to this, the way I look at SD card playback is, if it works, it works, end of. 👍
Right?! When it arrived, my first thought was "they usually have Upper Sideband... Oh wait .... Dang". If they do come out with a short way of listening device that does have sideband modes and maybe weather alert, I think it would be a great radio
I just did this one, I loved the radio, really retro. The tr629 is another cool one
It's a good Radio. I never heard of them untill recently and I feel like they have some potential in the future market
You do great work, by the way

This retekess TR618 radio is driven by AC 110V or 3 x D batteries. D batteries are easily available in the market.
@@retekessradio1714 love mine, but go outside to find some Dcells sometime can be a problem

"USB" is a very unfortunate acronym clash in the context of a shortwave radio!
