Return could have easily taken saw 2 spot.... saw 2 , while still one of my fav on the franchise was absolutely the weakest movie in this list..... it was a good list of movies
don't forget tony "ah I see him" marco "where you going pal, no more table. next time you want to kill someone, don't hesitate" theo "the quarterback is toast"
You forgot to include Little Shop of Horrors which gave us 2 iconic musical villains with the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello and the Mean Green Mother from Outer Space itself Audrey II.
@ I’m going by the film adaptation, not the original musical itself as Seymour isn’t as selfish as his original musical counterpart and doesn’t play as much of an active role in Orin’s and Mushnik’s deaths, as well as an indirect one in Audrey’s.
I view the T-Rex more as an antihero than a villain. If any other character could be classified as a villain next to the velociraptors, it’s definitely Dennis Nedry since he was responsible for causing the dinosaurs, including the velociraptors, to break out.
Well, WhatCulture seems to forget about the fifth film with them only saying 4 films. It looks like they’d rather acknowledge Kingdom of the Crystal Skull than Dial of Destiny.
Not a movie, but the recent Cross series that came out on Prime has 2 great villains, Ed Ramsey and Bobby Trey. Trey was barely even in the series, but the character stole the spotlight in every scene he was in.
As somebody already pointed out in the comments section, Gollum is more of a tragic character representing the effects of the Ring and addiction than a villain. Considering he’s the big bad of the franchise, Sauron would be the other main villain next to Saruman.
I will get a little out there with this one, but bear with me. I'm going to offer it for your consideration: the movie Interstellar. There are two villains; the first is the blight, making life unsustainable on Earth. I see this as a general symbol of Nature: the forces humans have to survive. The second is Dr. Mann (played by Matt Damon). I see Mann as a symbol of mankind with all its selfishness and shortsightedness. Thus, Interstellar is the story of mankind attempting to survive both nature and its own flaws. I can't think of a better pair of villains. Although, I could also see Alien as another example of this same pairing.
Two-Face really deserved better in The Dark Knight trilogy. Instead of Ra’s Al Ghul’s daughter, they should’ve had Two-Face team up with Bane. Man, how awesome would that have been. (Sigh)
@@hunterolaughlin He. Would have been great for more but the ironic part is that despite what Gordon says, the movie bet everything on The Joker and the 3rd movie was almost certainly a direct result of Ledger's death
Like everybody said Vader and Palpatine/Emperor has to be on the list! And for Alien, i like the Ash thing, really shocking for sure, but what about the Alien and the Predator?!?
Harvey Dent was NOT corrupted. They even call him the White Knight all along the film. You are missing the point of the entire movie. Evil wins precisely turning him into a criminal who wants revenge only at the end because he lost the love of his life. But a corrupted Harvey Dent? Never!
Agent Smith and the Machines can be argued as the same entity. Machines are bricks without any software and Smith is software. If you remove the software from a modern automobile, do you honestly think it is going anywhere without a tow truck?
I have grown to truly "love" (lol) the primary villains in my series. 💪😎✌️ Even their names are absolutely diabolical: *Nitrozite & Transalich.* One is a bone/ghost dragon. The other is a behemoth-like black dragon. Totally different, but equally catastrophic; one of magic & intellect, the other of might & barbaric brutality. 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ "Before I start, I must see my end. Destination known, my mind's journey now begins. Upon my chariot, heart and soul's fate revealed. In time, all points converge; hope's strength resteeled. But to earn final peace at the universe's endless refrain, we must see all in nothingness... before we start again." 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ --Diamond Dragons (series)
@@Dirkus17 Hey! Toht’s a Gestapo agent, and knowing the reality context behind them makes him actually more frightening than he appears. Also, he nearly killed Marion with a hot poker and almost succeeded in getting her to reveal the medallion if Indy hadn’t stepped in, so he’s also more competent as well.
4:47...Are you saying Hannibal Lecter wasn't theatrical😂 Edit: @jamespope7669, has informed me that had misspelled "Lecter" as "Lector." All these years...And the period going INSIDE the quotation mark still looks so not right to me😂
Darth Vader and the Emperor should have made the list.
Agreed
Agreed. Should be number 1!
absolutely! but this is whatculture unfortunately 😕☹
Return could have easily taken saw 2 spot.... saw 2 , while still one of my fav on the franchise was absolutely the weakest movie in this list..... it was a good list of movies
I assumed it was #1. Shocking
Honourable mention could be Frank Costello and Colin Sullivan from The Departed
Lord Beckett and Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean at world's end could have been another good duo
So happy to see I’m not alone in this!
Vader and Palpatine?
Anakin and palpatine?
Dooku and jango
Vader and tarkin?
Kathleen Kennedy and Disney
Rosa Klebb and Grant were also great together in From Russia with Love - I would give them an honourable mention.
In Hannibal Lecter's defense, he did punish the prisoner who committed a disgusting & vile act against Clarice.
There should be separate lists: one for villains and their chief henchman and another for movies with two unaffiliated villains.
Superman 2 Zod and Lex Luther also black manta, ocean master in aqua man many others too.
If you are going to say the Matrix machines are a villain, then it has 3 including Cypher. His short stint was epic
Blazing Saddles: Headley Lamar and the guy played by Slim Pickens.
Ditto? Ditto you provincial Putz!
Hans Gruber and Karl from Die Hard should be on this list.
Especially since Oddjob and Goldfinger were on the list
don't forget tony "ah I see him" marco "where you going pal, no more table. next time you want to kill someone, don't hesitate" theo "the quarterback is toast"
You forgot to include Little Shop of Horrors which gave us 2 iconic musical villains with the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello and the Mean Green Mother from Outer Space itself Audrey II.
Tbh, there's 3. Seymour himself, esp in the og musical. My man ushers in the end of all humanity.
@ I’m going by the film adaptation, not the original musical itself as Seymour isn’t as selfish as his original musical counterpart and doesn’t play as much of an active role in Orin’s and Mushnik’s deaths, as well as an indirect one in Audrey’s.
Velociraptor and T-Rex.

Gollum and Sauron?
Anakin and palpatine
Gollum wasn’t a villain, he was a tragic tale of the effects of the ring. If any other character would be a villain, I would say Saruman. IMO.
Even easier: Gollum and Smeagol.
Inglorious bastards
@@tahjvarela1518 I genuinely hate that movie.
Commander Krill and William Strannix in Under Siege.
Oh that's a good pair. Very fun actors both doing great jobs in their roles.
Rasputin and Kroenen from Hellboy
Benedict and Ripper: Last Action Hero
S. P. E. C. T. R. E. leader Ernst Stavro Blofeld & Irma Bunt (On Her Majesty's Secret Service).
Just to be clear. Goldfinger was the sole antagonist and Oddjob was his henchman/employee.
oddjob was a zulu warrior in the book and it was oddjob who got sucked out of the plane.
@@jamespope7669 It was Oddjob who got sucked out the plane, but I don't remember him being a Zulu warrior as he was Korean in the book as well.
Great List! I would add Davy Jones & Beckett and Megatron & Sentinel Prime.
As much as I'd like to forget, there are 5 Indiana Jones movies. There are also 7 Scream movies.
-no Die Hard?!? Hans Gruber and Karl where the BEST.
-Darth Vader and Tarkin or Vader and The Emperor
-Gollum and Saruman

Harry and Marv from Home Alone anyone?

The James Bond film series has so many iconic villains and of course Oddjob and Goldfinger are two of them. 🏌️♂️🕴️
Vader and Palpatine, Norton and Hadley, Hans Gruber and Karl.
Vincenzo Coccotti and Drexl: True Romance
Darth Vader and Moff Tarkin in Star Wars or Vader and Emperor in Return of the Jedi.
@@cafeabasedecinema And Darth Vader and Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back
Shere Khan and Kaa should be on here lol
The silence of the lambs had 3 villains. Hannibal Lecter, Buffalo Bill and Meeks 😂
Lord of the Rings. Sauron and Saruman
I wouldn't say Lecter explodes into violence. He simply very calmly chooses it as the best strategy.
Definitely enough examples for a sequel.
General Kael and Queen Bavmorda from Willow
at least you go back as far as GOLDFINGER, but you might look at least as far: THE MALTESE FALCON, THIS GUN FOR HIRE, LES DIABOLIQUES, M
You could fill this list with Bond movies.
Henchman ≠ Villain.
Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine should have been on this list
5 Indiana Jones’s movies. Hate to admit it, but Dial of Destiny exists. Also, 6 Scream movies
Scream higher than silence of the lambs? Gtfo
You forgot Klaus & Claudia Furschtien from Chipmunk Adventure
Pan's Labyrinth is a bit of a stretch here
5:00 fun fact
Anthony Hopkins is only in “the silence of the lambs” for about 22 minutes, and took home the Oscar for best actor
The Shawshank Redemption ?
Two Face was kinda shoehorned in and not very spectacular. I'd add Shredder and Tatsu in TMNT

Kramer Versus Kramer

That farmer wasn't ACTUALLY killed until Vidal shot him & his father. It was the bullets that killed the poor man. NOT the bottle.
Lord of darkness and Meg: Legend

Sauron and Gollum

Zod and Faora in Man of Steel.
4 Indy movies? I guess Crystal Skull slipped her mind.
@@TheInselaffen I think she’s referring to Dial of Destiny.
3:32. Senator Kinsley from Stargate SG-1.
It’s ED-209, like the name, not two separate letters
Batman and robin
Calvin Candie and Stephen
