  • An introduction to the use of T cells in the treatment of blood cancer.
Blood cancer cells can hide from the immune system and cause leukaemia. New research from the Chakraverty Group (MRC MHU) in collaboration with the Vyas Group (MRC MHU) and Professor Borrow (Jenner Institute), has shown that immune cells called T cells can be genetically modified in the lab, to better target leukaemia. These cells can be given to patients to improve their immune response to the cancer and lead to cure.
