- Raw interview with Shock G from Digital Underground in Chicago (2012). The footage was a bit blurry & security cut it short, but it's one of my favorite interviews to date.
notice how he gave so many props to his boy. he was so generous and down to help others get the spotlight. huge loss for the world. RIP shock
I did peep that!...hw was a good dude!
Always good energy vibes from duke since day 1. RIP King 🙏 👑
He was truly of his own kind, his own mould - of only one - and all the more thanks to him for it. I'm just sad it was as short a time with him as it played out to be. RIP Shock
When she hits that head tilt, she was caught up in his energy. What a charismatic Brother! I'm forever grateful he left somethin here for us.
Facts. He loved us so.
Thank u SHOCK G for taking Tupac under your wing and being a family member to him

He was intelligent and can sing... and he was sexy...
helluva producer! underrated, under appreciated!
Yes, buy why is he/Digital Underground not producing any music anymore, since the mid-1990s? Except for a few half-baked EPs etc.
It's an absolute sin!!
He was WaY ahead of his time! Born 50 years to early- definite Creative Visionary w unbelievably talent that was gifted by the Hip Hop Gods! Rest In Peace my Brotha! BTW: Hey can U let us know If TUPAC checked in or is he still “round the world” on Earth!
@@elizabethcontreras346 *too
@@elizabethcontreras346 Pac surely is
Rest in power shock g. A true friend of Tupac. A real one. A legend. Much respect
One super successful rapper producer you could tell he had a cool type of personality ...
I don't follow or listen to 'hip-hop'. This guy was genuine and talented. He really cared about the actual music. He was experimental, interested in the entertainment/enlightenment aspects of music. I didn't realize that he and 'Humphrey" were the same persons. Music has surely changed, and many say not for better. This guy ... he didn't just fall into music - he pursued it and made new ground in it.
Very well stated! he was a musical genius and very interesting individual!! Always admired his creative dopeness!
😂 *Humpty, not Humphrey
@@highdefiniton Oh I know the song ... but the alter ego's name was Humphrey.
@@jameswaters3939 Edward Ellington Humphrey III aka Humpty Hump
Who’s else found this gem after he went on to thug mansion?
Another legend gone....
RIP Shock G
Rest in Peace, Shock. Definitely charismatic!
He's so cute! He's always been handsome😍 I've never seen an afro with a mohawk inside😁
Long Live Shock G
Unfortunaly not. Rip shock
Damn so sad
Great interview, we lost such a talent!!!! Rest In Power!
He was very handsome. R.I.P.
One of the most innovative originators in the rap game.
He is what I imagine Jimmy Hendrix’s and/or Prince’s son would look and act like. The chick is down for whatever
Humpty was born from the Warner Brothers frog?!?!? Oh Lawd I am blown away. LMAO That is hilarious. I loved that frog! RIP Shock G.
I've watched this video several times, he talks in 3rd person. Shock G was so intriguing. RIP King!
He just leave's me in an indescribable state of speechlessness every single time he speaks!!sigh😍Mad RESPECT
#SOUNDERATEDTOTHEINDUSTRY
"We had an African American...Beatles thing going on...but we never got Grammys. Kind of like 'Pac. By the time they woke up to him...it had happened already..."
That part hit me too.✨
RIP my baby 💔😢🌹🕊
Lol the W.B. frog story I was so intrigued and surprised I remember that frog it was hilarious. But it's so interesting I never that's where the voice was from...lol 😆
He was even laughing at himself for doing that.
I’m a broadcast coach and this is a great interview sis , good stuff . Rare . Good for you . RIP Shock G .
THIS IS WHAT TALENT LOOKS LIKE I ALWAYS ADMIRED SHOCK G. I PRAY THAT GOD GRANTS HIM LONGEVITY AND MUCH SUCCESS IN LIFE. RESPECT IS EARNED AND WITHOUT A DOUBT HE HAS MINE.
🥲👑🥲
Wow,
I feel sad that your pray wasnt heard by god
@@naporin1 blessings to you Pedro but my pray was heard by god almighty all of us have a preset time and for everything thing there is a season the life of shock G came to a close but all the things he accomplish in his time most of us will never experience his music reached you and me all over the world what he did with the time he had is only by God’s permission and grace he finished his course and kept the faith we all have a meeting we must meet and we all have a reservation at some cemetery without the Privilege of cancellation so from where I sit is his music now has longevity and purpose question is what will be your legacy on longevity when it’s time to leave this world behind shock G has now gone from labor to reward because the price of shock G account is paid in full those of us still alive have the fact of knowing our final deposit is still outstanding and god will come and collect our soul what kind of a reward will we receive God hears the prayers of the righteous I hope and pray that you find peace and longevity in your life mercy is still being given but at some point mercy will be unable to respond what have you done with the time god is still giving you? And that’s a question we should all be asking of one’s self doesn’t matter about the length of time you live it’s what did you do with the time you have Peace be unto you Pedro.
@@staceystar675 you are so RIGHT. Thx 4 your words. Very powerfull. God bless you too.
Shock G was born in New York City, a Brooklyn native and reared in Brooklyn until his early teens.. While Shock G was living in Oakland, California, he met another New York City native, hailing from Harlem; the person was Tupac. Shock G help to enhance PAC’s talent by allowing Pac to go on the road with his group Digital Underground; Pac would open up for Digital Underground. Shock G was a musical genius. RIP to Shock G, my brother, in Jesus mighty name, amen.
I had the biggest crush on him! This is the second crush of mine, that has passed away. The other one was Shabba Doo aka Adolfo Quinones, from the movie Breakin', major losses from the entertainment industry. May they both r.i.p.😢😞

Awesome. Thank you for posting it, guys. Really appreciated. Much love, respect, long life and well wishes to the mighty Shock G. Still the deliverer of the rhyme.

U would, too! His aura in-person was, DOPE! A beautiful human~
I was just watching this interview a few weeks ago. This is bananas!!!
Great interview...thanks for showing us what hes doing now!
Rest in peace Shock G
Loved shock g. Rest in power legend.
I say this many times (Listen) to whoever when their sharing jewels with you, as you are experiencing and hearing the mind of a genius. I've always seen G. Jacobs as a wiz-kid outside of his music. He experiences life in a fun way other than music. His persona as a Humpty character made him that more interesting to look & listen to. Ladies and gentlemen, we just lost a genius G. Jacob in the same image of Nipsey Hussle. I witness Nip before I heard any of his songs. I love hearing greatness speak. It motivates me. We lost another great one, R.I.H Greg Jacobs aka shock G aka Humpty!
Thank you shock g for the funk and the great mu
Deep dude, RIP Shock G, respect 👊💪💖👏💕🙏.
Shock G was a cool artist, musician and a gifted producer.
Shock G cool as Ice..cool Dude..R.I.P. ⚘
Beautiful voice Shock G and aka Humpty
I can’t wait to see tribute songs to Shock G. Drugs or not he was a success and couldve had more potential
I might make one cause Shock inspired me to play piano and I'll make a song about his music, personality, and lifestory
when she says "you're an artist" all he says is "thank you"
show me someone else as humble I dare you
this is an amazing interview as the description says. so cool thank you!
Keep this up ⬆️

I dig Shock G he's a talented funny cool cat..we can learn a lot from S-G!!
😔Gone to young🙏
What a fucking legend.
Dude! he did a little bit of "Hip Hop Doll" which is maybe my FAVORITE digital track ever. It wasn't on the CD or vinyl version of Sex Packets but it WAS on the cassette. For real that song is like, the most DU song ever- it has some silliness/humptyness, some sexy parts, and a driving beat. If you're reading this and don't know Hip Hop Doll, look that shit up and listen on some good headphones, it's a gem
HHD is 1 of my favS‼
R.I.P. to Shock G.
I was at this show. I was an invited guest. Great show. D.u. always put it down.
Shock Greatness
The video quality makes it look like it was filmed in 93... but big props for the video anyway thanks 🙏🏼
He kept it fun....we LOVE u SHock !!!
It would've been dope if he'd did the Humpty album and it had production from all those producers including him definitely RIP Shock G
R.I.P. Shock G ❤
Rest in heavenly peace
Shock is the definition of Cool
i had no idea he was so chill and cool.
I am looking but can't find a rapper with more wit, more vocal tone & better use of the beat, than right here - this cat
So sad that he died

So, all along we had this gem of an artist. Yet, look at how the FN music industry keeps shoveling shisty performers at us. I missed his vibe and the genuine artistry this brutha shared.
