The only reason that England did win any of the above competition is because they have an English manager, English managers are not good enough to manage a top tier club,good talents like Foden,Walker,Stone, Bellingham,Rice etc etc,talk less of the English national team,the reason for this is that English managers don't have any tactical aucumen.

On paper, England should take Slovakia by 2 goals at least. They have 4 world class players any country would love to have in their starting 10. Very interesting question as to why they seem to be underperforming. Kane, Rice, Walker, Bellingham... these are excellent excellent players.

They are going to pulverise Slovakia. Still unbeaten, improving all the time and will get better as the tournament goes on, they always do! Unfortunately a few players don't click, the same as Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes never. But Mainoo and Rice do, so they have to play together. Cole Palmer has to start too, put Saka on left as he's a lefty. My latest Euro 2024 song, will emphasises the need for the young lads.

A bit late to be deciding where players should be playing. Southgate had to have this under control months back. Everyone has to know their role. Everyone has to play where they do on their clubs -- England has the depth to do this. Only injuries and maybe a surprising new young player should force the manager to change the set up in some small way. No idea why England wasn't very settled prior to this tournament.

I don’t actually agree with the France game at the World Cup in terms of Southgate letting anyone down. He brought Mount on who went on to win a penalty which should have levelled the game. You can’t legislate for a missed penalty, otherwise we were good in that game against a strong side. I’m not sure he was necessarily to blame - you need a bit of luck in big games. I can understand criticism of the other tournaments, but in reality the Semi Final against Croatia was his first tournament and he did a good job with the squad he had. We could’ve won on penalties against Italy too, so I still find that difficult as a real criticism against Southgate. Would we have been as critical if we won that tournament? Obviously not; being a penalty kick or two away is unlucky again, whether or not we could’ve done a little bit more in normal time.
This is the first tournament where Southgate has made really obvious mistakes, I personally think that it’s the weight of expectation that has got to both the staff and the players. The players haven’t performed - it’s not all on Southgate. With that said, we’re through the group conceding just 1 goal. I’d rather win the tournament scoring 5 goals than go out scoring 30 and conceding 20 etc. so for me, judge the manager after the tournament. The later we get in the tournament, the better chance we have regardless of performance. The whole “luck of the draw” etc. is a bit of nonsense too - we’ve shown we struggle against sides that sit in. We have no clue how the team would cope with a more capable nation; playing against a Belgium or Germany etc. who want to play on the front foot could actually help us by offering more space and more opportunities on the transition. Football isn’t as black and white as this lazy punditry is trying to make out.

Bellingham does not open defend, he provides energy and late runs into box which only work well when opposite comes at you. Drop him for this match. he will come in to replace foden when play tougher opponents with england having less possession.

I thought the lineup that Robson chose was really strange. It seems pretty clear that Declan rice is a number 8 and not a number 6. Which means there is an extra 8 in midfield along with Bellingham. And the number 6 is missing. I think one of those two has to step out and just get a single defined pivot in front of the back 4 like Mainoo or Wharton. At least give one of them half a game each against a team like this before you have to try it against a big team like the Netherlands.
Declan is class at 6 , for west ham, when he plays for arsenal and even for England this tournament. He himself says it's his most comfortable position . You want to move him out to put in a player who made his pl debut in January ? Honestly ?
