    As far as I know this is the first serious milsim attempt at an airfield seizure. It was only made possible thanks to our SOF SME's Grim, Savage, Seige, and ControlledPairs. Hope you guys enjoy!

      I was going to say the same thing. Except I would point out the DZ would almost never be on the actual airfield itself. Not in a situation like that anyway. You can't have people landing next to shilkas, lmfao. That's no good. I was at Ft. Bragg from 2008 to 2011, btw. 4/73 Cav 4th BCT 82nd. Overall, I'd say they did a pretty decent job, but if they're going for realism, they should include the hour long LGoPs all finding each other in the dark to ask if anyone knows where 'x unit' is over and over until they finally see their units buzzsaw or whatever other rally signal. Then the additional 30min to an hour pulling security waiting for everyone else to come in. Then the final ruck, before securing the objective. I guess my point is that they left out all the really sh*tty parts of a JFEX. All those freezing nutsacks and lots of waiting around. People stuck in trees, etc. Maybe someone could make a realism mod for that? lmfao

    • @roostercogburn3272
      @roostercogburn3272 Год назад +12

      @@nicholasvalentine9749 I've realized looking back how crazy it is that so much of that was just experienced as day-to-day work, and nothing really special. At the time, we mostly couldn't wait for whatever 'thing' to be over with, so we could get back to barracks to jerk off and play video games or whatever, lol. Seriously though, at the time, it all kind of just 'sucked'. Looking back though, some of those things were nothing short of incredible. Especially deployments. That's why I think coming home is so hard. The stakes will never be quite so high. Nothing will ever be quite so intense. There's something about willfully putting yourself in harm's way that makes you feel more alive than ever before. It's hard to reconcile that being gone. At least we can still simulate it in Arma though. That's something. Maybe I need to get into base jumping? Or, even wingsuit cliff jumping? Or, maybe even wingsuit cliff jumping from the mountains of Afghanistan while TB soldiers shoot at me again. For the thrills, lmfao. Naw, too much effort. I'll just play Arma, DCS, and get laid. Far more practical anyway. Maybe I could be a racecar driver? Or an astronaut? Those sound exciting.

    Awesome static jump. This is a staple in my community, so its cool to see others doing the same. We used to have the manpower to do Company sized static jumps, miss those days

    The Milsim group I was apart of did a airfield seizure but we took the role of Marines that landed on a beach head and proceeded towards the air field

    Almost got one of these missions when I was deployed as QRF out of Sicily, my platoon was supposed to fast rope in and clear an airfield for an incoming company that was evacuating the embassy and RAO. Interesting to see a simulation of a similar mission and how it might've played out if it got the green light.

    Amazing editing. The filtered movie style credits showing the player characters in candid stills plus the credits music added a lot of polish to the great gameplay.
    This one looked easy, probably due to good planning and execution. I know from your other vids that things don't always go so smoothly (like the 150-player event last week)! :D

    This was incredible. The length of the operation was pretty realistic too, that's about how long it would take. Assuming you skip over the part where you have to get the cargo planes through the enemy SAM network.
