Dave did a remote tuning of my Tuono -> its really great the understanding of how things work - even if he does not see the bike at all. Just by telling whats going on and sending pics of the tires - thats all - he has improved the riding confort on track dramatically. So go for it - it costs only some EURO - much less compared to having a crash because of poor settings of the suspension. Greetings from Europe...
Thanks Arnold for the opportunity to work with you and help you with more understanding as well as better working knowledge with and on your bike. For those wondering about the cost of 1-1 remote tuning it is $20USd via email or $80USd for 30 minutes via WhatsApp or Skype. As Arnold experienced, it makes a huge difference to you, your knowledge and your motorcycle.
Dave, your a great guy, but I got a tip for you, only ask people questions that pertains to setting up the bike, you ask way too many other questions that belittles your clients even though it is not your intent, you probably want to educate people but trust me, reduce the amount of unnecessary questions. :)
Hello Dave! My RSV4 is so tall! Can i take some ride height out by reducing preload? Can you please explain how this could be possible without negatively affecting handling too much?? I'm on tip toe! Thanks in advance and best wishes for the new year. Eddie
Hi Eddie. You can remove 2-3 turns of preload (left/counter clockwise) on the shock ruclips.net/video/Jlbca0SIxhw/видео.html. Then remove 4-6 turns of preload on the forks, same direction. Set compression in the middle of the range. ruclips.net/video/LSG3c5sNEDQ/видео.html
Add more preload 2.25 turns and 1 click of compression. Reset the cable tie and try again If you get to 80% preload and compression and still bottom, you can try more oil IF the il is less than 2k since the last service.
Mines is a 2016 RR. Ever since I purchased in '16, the suspension on this bike has felt nothing but crap. I dont know if its because tolerances vary due to mass production of these suspension parts or if its because the quality of the internals is garbage. Ive consulted quite a few suspension guys and shops in my area and also in other states and was told that the sachs is basically garbage, mostly the valving and needs to be gutted and replaced with either ohlins or k-tech cartridges, valves and correctly sprung. No matter what I do in the back of my mind something isnt right. Doesnt feel planted at all. Every bump big or small kicks either the front or rear up. Lost all hope and will be doing full k-tech front and rear on it next year. On the bright side after the upgrades I still would have spent as much as the RF but with way better suspension.
Interesting that you can't find a place of contentment with OEM suspension and settings reinforced by professionals. Generally we can find something that does work across a reasonable range of road conditions. K-Tech, Ohlins, Notron etc all offer excellent products so enjoy the R&D seta time with settings evaluation :)
Please email me with answers to these questions: dave@davemosstuning.com. 1. How many miles/kms on the bike. 2. Changes from stock. 3. Current tire brand, model and sizes. 4. Type of riding you do and level of aggressiveness.
“Track or street?” *Nods* “strack” 😂
😂😂 brilliant

Is it a coincidence that he's wearing a psychedelic hoodie whilst standing in front of two massive DMT banners?
subliminal coincidence
Hi Dave, I have a 2014, as a general rule of thumb if I'm bottoming out the forks at the track I need to add more preload ?

Lol
Well what happened with your bike?. I holy doubt Sachs is junk lots of manufacture use them like yamaha r1.
No one complains on them.
I notice most of these guys tires show that they're not leaning the bike.... going to have a big flat block down the center of the tire... :/
I have a 16RF.
Stock seetings and the bike is too stiff.
Road only.Im about 80-82 kgs in full gear.
