If Freedom didn't get rebuilt, then I think it would have been interesting to see Kira pilot an upgraded Strike Gundam. Maybe Perfect Strike, or Strike Ootori. Have everyone use battery powered suits for most of the show to keep suits from being too overpowered. Shinn should stay with Sword Impulse. Lunamaria gets Blast Impulse. Then Shinn get upgraded to Destiny Impulse. Then Destiny Gundam..
Sunrise still getting used to digital animation that time and Morosawa's habit of handing scripts late made it worse. So, the animators had to pad them.
Welcome to seed destiny. Trust me it gets SO MUCH worse by the end. Even gundam wing wouldn't reuse animation anywhere near to this degree and that was the second worst out of any mainline gundam series. And the next series gundam 00 had, if I recall correctly, exactly one bit of reused animation in the entire series. 00 feels like an apology for seed and destiny but it more than paid off. 00 is an awesome series.
I loved that in destiny the Freedom was so done with all this shit and put everyone in their places. and rightfully so. too bad Kira was a pacifist though

It's also got one of the nicer MA mode designs for for a Gundam that doesn't radically alter it's frame during transformation(Zeta etc)

Saviour or Aegis was Athrun's coolest mobile suit. Both Justice just looked like they were designed by Jeffree Star.

Freedom shoudn't have gotten fixed for the most of Destiny. Also, had someone else directing and writing GSD, Lunamaria would've pilot it.
If not the saviour, it would've been better if she pilots the Destiny Impulse.
