    I think it's very important to get an alliance with the Exiles of Nehek. In my first run I didn't engage in much diplomacy with them and they went to war with me. It can make the campaign much harder if they're sending stacks from the south. Second time I gave them Shroktak mount, a town I wasn't going to develop much anyway, and some gifts every turn to keep them happy and get an alliance with them. They can help keep Morathi off you as well. If they're hostile they will make sure your home province never gets built up.

      @ElvenPlotArmour  Год назад +2

      Love your attention to diplomacy here and normally I'd say this is a great strategy. The reason I don't recommend it here is the Sisters 'sometimes' will hate or war with them. Given the natural aversion from Wood Elves this means they will be hard to trade that necessary resource or you could spend a fortune gifting to avoid war because you're screwed if Valkia declares as well.
      I've found a simple trade deal will keep the relationship rolling to the positive and because Tomb kings are typically so poor you can gift to keep them onside at low cost.
      That said, if you don't care about the resources you could have just as powerful of a campaign by crushing the Sisters with Nehek :)

    Just started this campaign a couple days ago, Hard/Normal since I want to relax after work... Damn, it still makes for a challenging early game.
    My starting decisions were totally different. I built artillery building on turn along 1 with barracks upgrade, built 2 catapults as soon as I could, took blessing of Valaya for replenishment, and after capturing my 1st province I went straight for Malekith's throat. He was just passing by so conveniently, all alone. I ended up taking lots of casualties, damn, those Grudge throwers don't hit as hard as I remember from my dwarf campaign 2 years ago. Then I beelined for Har Kaldra, sacked, replenished, captured it. Still, I'm so broke I couldn't upgrade the main settlement straight away, Naggarond is too tough a nut to crack, and Valkia has already obliterated Ghrond and her stack looks _scary_. I think I'll defo' be better off mimicking your way, that is, saving on artillery in favor of growth building and lots of infantry, along with taking the "fighting" Ancestor God blessing. And yeah, gotta play smart around Naggarond, I just got too used to cheating from my Clan Angrund campaign, with them ghost heroes.

      There's been a fair few changes in the game so it's likely a bit different now. Sounds like you've got the chops to get it done and make it work! Clan Angrund are never a push over. Good luck in the next one mate!

      I'm doing a campaign now and having similar issues. Fighting the Dark Elves... just sucks. Their firepower is insane and you really need to scout them out before the main battle starts. Had to build two armies to finally crush them. I also went with the Research Ancestor God blessing... thinking that was a big mistake.

If they are going to be long could you do timestamps. Length of your videos doesn't really matter because there is usually no filler of fluff. It's all useful information. I get the impression that you favor more defensive factions, but have you ever considered doing a Greenskins guide? They're my favorite race and I love the snowball nature of them. I particularly love the building that increases global post-battle loot and sacking income. I had a game where I built like 50 of them and was able to sack Altdorf for 120k gold. You can go into a ridiculous gold deficit with them and still be making money because of the insane battle loot that this building provides and I've yet to see a RUclips channel highlight its power. Would that be something that interests you?

    • @crioTimmy
      @crioTimmy 7 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I remember doing his campaign in WHII, not on Legendary tho', and probably with Normal battle difficulty. Still, it was a bitch.
      Before 1d4chan died, one of the latest edits to the Dwarfs TW Tactics page reads as follows:
      "Clan Angrund In immortal empires Belegar's difficulty level has been severely reduced, on turn one as soon as you take your first settlement you can full-confederate Karak Izor instantly. After that it's the usual hop and skip to Karak-Eight-Peaks, however with it in Skarsnik's hands now, it's significantly easier to take as Skarsnik doesn't start with a full 20 stack army unlike the 'Crooked Moon Mutineers' from Warhammer 2."
      Now, back them, eliminating Skarsnik ASAP was obviously a priority. After that, my personal decision was to take Skavenblight and Sartosa, so I had a safe rear while marching to K8P. This brought up another issue: by the time I've fulfilled The Reclamation (of K8P), Grimgor has gotten out of hand. I don't remember precisely, it was like 2 years ago, but I defo had to resort to some save-scumming.
      Regarding Belegar's army composition. I've checked his skills on TW Planner, it seems the gist stays the same. First, disband the Hammerers after the first battle. They have an ungodly upkeep, and they won't carry the day for you. Rangers will. See that "Tunnel Warfare" talent? Go for it ASAP. Obviously, the respective redline talents and research as well (don't bother with economic ones in early game). Make a doomstack of Rangers, with 1-2 axe variant squads for that juicy AP. After amassing some money and oathgold from battles, take a Bolt Thrower with the Flakkson's Rune of Seeking, and a couple of catapults with runes of Burning and Penetration. So, 3 arty pieces, Rangers, and a couple of Miners w/Blasting charges (Belegar gives them +200% ammo and some melee stats with the aforementioned talent).
      Now, let's talk about your ghost heroes. They are awesome. Take "Sharpen weapons" for Runesmith and Dead eye line for Engineer, obviously. Now, one of your Thanes is more offensive (has more Charge and MA), and the other one is the defensive one (more MD and a silver shield). Their last names give the obvious hint which one is what. Take Wanderer talent for the offensive one to get that juicy "Snipe" for your Rangers, and Keeper of the gate for the latter one. And cheese the hell out of the AI. Especially during sieges. Belegar and the two Thanes are your frontline. Use the classic "invite them to clump around your tank" tactics. In sieges, send Belegar with 2 Thanes to literally knock at the doors (your lord has a Siege attacker trait). When the gates fall, just send the three of them in. They'll hold on forever with Guardian and Mighty Oathstone, and Belegar at some point (Age of Reconquest talent) gets an aura that affects enemy leadership in sieges. Abuse Rune of Wrath&Ruin on those clumps, while Rangers shoot everything around and Miners throw their grenades.
      Even tho' I'm necroposting here a bit, I hope you will still find these advices interesting and useful. Don't forget to blast "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold" song (extended editions) while playing Belegar.

      It's hard to compare since there's the ease to create the powerhouse lord and their ability to deal with other units. Imrik is great, but when you compare him to Teclis' army clearing abiity it's an odd pairing. His mount, I will argue, is the strongest in the game!
