As a predominantly Dawi player, our garrisons are awesome, and our range advantage and stout front lines make us siege Gods. As such I tend to post a lord with a hero spaced a few settlements apart around the edge of my empire as it expands. Deck them out with runes and forged equipment and save your RoR units, and you can withstand almost anything.
Malakai is probably the smartest guy around. Hes a slayer so hes suppost to die to a worthy opponent, but you cant die to a worthy opponent if you shoot them all in the head from a blimp.

A good campaign idea tip for Malakai that I've seen no one else do is just to defeat the nurgle starting enemy, pack up and leave to defeat Azzhag and help Ungrim until you confederate him
