that totally nonchalant "drop forge" got me good....
Haha that's great thanks for watching
My kids saw the finished product and both said “woww!”
Very cool pattern! You look young without the beard 😂 I almost didn’t recognize you at the end
Haha yeah
Very beautiful knife. The grain on the handle is gorgeous. Well done sir.
That drop forge was impressive hahaha
I might be the only one that says this but I enjoy the longer videos. Thirty minutes of content for the countless hours you commit to fabricating these pieces of art is the least I can do.
Very beautiful but REAL knives. This one was a favorite.
Nail test was impressive! Greyjoy on the heat treatment
Another cool pattern 👍
Thanks!
Yo, this is so cool. Thank you for explaining the process
Love the knife. Get to the Chopper
SPLENDID
Nice work 👌🏻😎
Really beautiful
Can’t believe I was not already subscribed!!!
Absolutely gorgeous!
That’s a rather complex job, nice to see how you hammered it together at a higher temperature, awesome finish too, beautiful knife! a nice chain of events 😂
Haha awesome thanks!
Mighty fine Blade!
Your nail chopping technic improved.
Beautiful knife! I wish I could afford even one of your small knives!
a work of art
How cool. You have done a great work. The knife looks beautiful 👏👏
Cool knife and video!
Thanks!
Ah, another use for roller chain! Thanks for sharing your processes.
Yes sir thank you
That's a beauty.
That turned out looking good nicely done 👍
Amazingly tough, sharp, and not to forget, beautiful. Very nice Elijah! Blessings!
Thank you sir!
'Drop forge.'
Heh.
Totally sexy blade - I LOVE the shape - perfect utility shape. The reticulated blade pattern is extremely nice, but the ironwood handle - WOW!
Awesome
Great result with the pattern! I feel like my square would not stay square and the sides would come out uneven 🤦🏻♂️
Good video & good looking knife!!! 👍🏼
Thank you
Wunderschön klasse arbeit
I love it very well done. Quite impressive
Great knife
very nice......great saves...
Beautiful build. Thank you.
great work, that edge steel/damascus transition is so dramatic, clean, and consistent, great work!
Thanks man!!
Very knife 👍
You should get a chain link tool they’re super cheap, save your cutting discs
Incredible work.
Beautiful job Elijah, very sharp and tough.
Thanks Randy!
Awesome knife!
Nice job.
Definitely one sharp looking blade. 😮😊
Impressive toughness from the edge
Beautiful knife. Nice video. 👍👍
Kool knife brother, I'm hooked on knife forging videos.God bless you brother.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome Knife!! Keep'em coming!
Thank you!!
Another gorgeous piece Elijah. Not only is it gorgeous, it's also very practical. That was slick how you drop forged it! Happy belated Thanksgiving to you and your family!
you dont seen phased by any issues along the way. Awesome results
Another stunning knife. Great job! Belated Happy Thanksgiving
gotto love that chain pattern , its a good one. I really like the shape of the blade too, somehow the slightly bellied edge appeals to me. would like to see what you do for a handle material
Awsome
Thank you
Nice work and a beautiful knife, but that chain is not a bicycle chain more than likely some sort of industrial one..
Can you tell I did a coffee etch on the blade? Popped those welds on the edge steel.
The pattern seemed to pop more.
Usually industrial Roller Chain is at least 1080ish same as Chainsaw Chains, they have enough carbon to make proper blades even without powdered steel added but using powdered makes sure that you don’t have voids and delams. Given that your Roller Chain has a Nickel component to it the steel might not be a simple carbon steel or it might just be Nickel Plated simple carbon steel like 1080
wow no beard... first time I have seen your video without beard!!
How do you keep track of the layer orientation when you are forging it out?
Another beauty! What - is it cold in West Texas? You're wearing a coat . . .
I want a forge😭
is the star shaped part halfway along the knife natural or stamped in, not watched these videos before and have no knowledge of this type of thing but the blade looks beautiful, ive never really wanted a knife before but there's just something about it that I cant shake but if you do sell them then im more scared of the price than the knife 👍
Are you coming to Blade Texas this year?
Question would a broken East Wing Sledgehammer head make a good axe or Hatchet blade with the the steel hold an edge
It should be ok
Whats the edge thickness before you sharpen it? I try to get it as thin as I can comfortably go, close to a 1/32" edge with a saber grind for hunting knives but the edge still feels too thick. I havent handled much for other handmade knives so its hard to compare mine to others to see what a typical edge looks like.
About .020" behind the edge on this one
Did you speed up your voice over?
no i just drank a couple cups of coffee
Hey, it's me again. Just wondering if i could have it.
WTF YOU SHAVED
You should do a video like this but replace a lot of the technical terms with nonsense words. That would be funny.
Haha
I still don’t recognize you I miss the beard
Drop forged... lol
What happened to your beard?
Well I was trying to figure out a respirator issue, so I'm using a 3M p100 respirator right now
Who even are you?; because you definitely aren't elijah
Haha, what.??
Made me feel dizzy watching you work that angle grinder toward the inside of your wrist. Next time: put the chain in the vise so a link is sticking up then use a cutoff disk horizontally on the link sticking up. Easy. If you only have one hand holding an angle grinder you're already halfway to the ER.
I'd love to do this as a job, I'm a sheet metal worker and I just make boring stuff like flashings ect.
Kean-ister, keant, eeand ..... why are you butchering so many pronunciations ?
Absolutely gorgeous!
