Mark, what size line do you put on your 500 series spinning reels? Do you use power pro braid? I've also heard of people using Shimano's braided line. Thanks!
I’ve got a question about fishing in POC. I just went fishing yesterday, two weeks after you did in the same area and struggled catching quality fish just like you did. The weather was pretty bad to start the day off with Highwinds and temperatures at about 55°, but cleared up to be a beautiful day. At about 11 AM the water became pretty muddy though and visibility was bad along with high waters. I have heard that a tide repeats itself every two weeks. I am planning another kayak trip but it will be two weeks from today when this same type of tide will be present supposedly. My question is, are my chances going to be bad at POC again with these conditions? Should I take my fishing trip to a different part of the Texas coast? Wanted to pick your brain since you do this for a living and may have some experiences.
I’ve never heard of that before. I always plan my trips the night before. I find a location with the least wind and chance of rain and go there. The marsh always provides protection from most of the winds. I don’t ever ever worry about the tides and other things.
MDLR Fishing good to know! I’m pretty to new to bay fishing so I’m just looking for helpful feedback from credible sources. I definitely do not want to over think it either. It’s fishing!! I appreciate your fast response by the way. Means a lot. Your videos are entertaining and insightful as well. Love the channel!
We have been catching massive bulls reds here on Galveston. Come back and get some. Me and my buddy have caught around 15 total this week. Mostly all where in the 40 plus and one 50in.
I lost it when you said “You can’t triple stamp a double stamp Lloyd!” 💀💀😂😂😂
the stars were finally aligned w/ yall finally getting together. Outstanding video, Mark.
Thanks 🙏
I love watching both of your channels.

Power Pro is Shimano. I use 5# Power Pro Yellow Braid and 8, 10, 12, or 20# fluoro leader. Just depends on the area i'm fishing.

I’m retired Marine Corps. Although I understand it, I don’t speak Spanish.
Are you a retired CSM? If so thank you so much for your service!
Retired Master Gunnery Sergeant USMC
Well you definitely broke the mold image people have of a gunnery Sargent. Thank you again for your service!
