And when it does he stalks you relentlessly and it's a pain to put him down. This game was criminally underrated. Moreso it never got a faithful re-make. This was from the era when things were not 'overdone' with soppy animations and cutscenes/direction. It was pure intensity and gaming.

I think the most frustrating thing about this game is that it's actually easier to just run around the dinosaurs than to fight them. I mean, you don't even need to fight the T-Rex the first time you see it. Just run around for 3 minutes and Rick shows up anyway.

Funny :)
I had this game and the second one. This one is the best. I remember writing down passwords and codes in my notepad and figure out where the heck I was while inside the complex. Two things that stuck with me about this game: the T-Rex smashing his head through the office window and the nice gentle music in the Save Room, (I even recorded it and looped it). I even went as far to color my hair red shades just like Regina :)
Looking back, I kinda wished I kept these games.
I so desperately want a RE2 remake style remake of this game and am wallowing in sorrow that Capcom will never give it to us.
Like for real. We've had like 8 versions of RE4 and we're getting another one before they even think about giving us Code Veronica? Wtf??
I would love to see Capcom remake this like the resident evil games.
Seems like it could do well if given some love
One of my all time favorite games! Would love to see a new dino crisis with todays graphics!
That was great, thanks! I'd love to see you play the other great Capcom dino game -- Cadillacs and Dinosaurs!
I just now realized that, " Resident Evil, but on a boat" could be a very apt description of Dead Space. The first one at least.
I was 7 in 1999. This game gave me nightmares but I still loved watching my dad play it. Very fond memories, and I will never forget how much that T-Rex TERRIFIED me!!
Didn't even know you had non-MMO videos until your Strife Plays second channel announcement. These are so good too.
I do just want to clarify, you have short range radios on your person, good for talking within a finite area. Your radio man had a much longer range radio which is why losing him stops you calling the chopper
Absolutely love dino crisis. So underrated
Great channel, the content I’ve seen so far is practically my childhood. Got recommended the tomb raider vid yesterday and subbed quickly after. So far done tomb raider, silent hill and now dino crisis, got my fingers crossed you’ve done the original MGS or oddworld! Nostalgia aside these are well made video essays!
The "A lot of people have died" skits get me every time I don't know why.
I like these kinds of videos. This is the first one I watched on your channel and you gained a subscriber. Thanks for your comedic and interesting curation.
Even I played it on my PlayStation vanilla, it surely gave me the chills. Thanks for sharing the nostalgia 👍💯👍
23:02 I was searching for the title of this movie for 10 years.
Once saw it randomly on VOD, watched like 15 minutes but it stuck in my mind since then.
Thank you Josh. Thank you very much.
Regarding the chance for total annihilation, during the Manhattan project there were serious concerns over the nuke igniting the atmosphere, so it's not that far fetched that they'd go ahead with it
This game was criminally underrated. Moreso it never got a faithful re-make.
This was from the era when things were not 'overdone' with soppy animations and cutscenes/direction. It was pure intensity and gaming.
The patreon list actually made me smile. You've come a long way, Josh. I'm really happy and proud to be your fan. Keep up the great work.
long time viewer with many, many reviews of your vods. this is still one of my favorite intros.
stay amazing, Josh, we need you.
You really caught me off-guard with the LPL mention! :D
Since I am already writing this, I'll also add that I admire that whatever you do, it's in high quality, high amounts of fun and you're just really good at narration and talking. Thanks for the videos!
I absolutely love your videos!!!! And this one i loved even more, as Dino Crisis 1 is one of my all-time-favourite games!
"You'll never hear pterodactyl go to the toilet because the pee is silent"... 😭 That was a good one. I literally laughed out loud. 😂🤣☠️ You got your subscriber.
I loved Dino Crisis growing up! I really enjoyed watching this with your commentary
I never realised how much back and forth Dino Crisis was. I'm also amazed at the amount of work you put in. The first 10 times a dinosaur would have killed me I would throw the game aside and say "Shit game! Next!". You suffered through the whole way!
Oh in going to suffer a whole lot more with the next few videos in this series.
I'll be replaying some of the worst video games ever made, and some of the toughest
I remember playing Dino Crisis 3 and since i was a little kid i was too scared to leave the safety of the starting area xd.Really interested to maybe see all this franchise covered by ours truly Josh.
29:28 Funny enouhg I rememmber that if you fail that puzzle enough times the guy dies and you retreive the thing from his corpse. And I think the radio thing is that theirs don't have enough range.
And what about dinocrisis 2? I liked that one. I am disapointed we never knew what happened in the story after that.
Used to play this back when I was like 10 years old, the save room music is a banger and will always creep me out.
considering how limited the technology was its impressive how great they made that ass
I really appreciate having a gaming youtuber with style. Something about a suit jacket just adds to the voice.
That camera view... metal gear 1 feelings
Colonel, im trying to sneak around...
Only just discovered you main channel after being a fan of your plays channel. Dropped a like just cause of that great intro (Knowing your work I am sure the rest of the vid is top notch and deserves that like anyways)
"How would a hearing impaired person solve that puzzle?" Feel the pain of a colorblind person who loves RPGs.
Xenogears had one of those sound puzzles at end of disc 1 or start of 2, no instructions... Never finished it.
Oh my god this game made me cry whenever I was left alone for like 5 years when I was a child. I had a very specific scene just burned into my memory haha.
"Regina how are you so calm"
Gee, I don't know, maybe because she's a seasoned soldier and used to seeing mutilated corpses.
Imma gonna go ahead and guess most soldiers don't see people torn apart by dinosaurs.
@@IamQuh A corpse is still a corpse.
those skits by Josh, Jush, Jash, Jesh and Jish are a really nice touch xD
i would love to see a remake of this gem
I wish I knew about this video when it came out. Glad I found it now. I needed a good laugh these days
Regina is my hero, she slaughters dinosaurs while wearing her underclothes on the outside. Why can't I meet someone like her in real life?
Difficult question. Personally I blame a crimminally low amount of dinosaurs.
Shotgun beats pterodactyl. I learned so much from this video.
Josh: "...and he's in a T-Rex somewhere..."
Me: *dies of laughter at the office*
"The most intense file reading of all time"
It feels real good to see people enjoying one of my favorite games ever.
I really, really enjoyed replaying this game. This video didnt do well, but i enjoyed it
@@JoshStrifeHayes I get the sense you didn't enjoy the puzzles much, but those were some of my favorite in any game until Dead Space.
I could never stomach the slow, creeping dread of the Resident Evil games. But Dino Crisis came along and said "HEY! What if we just replaced all that with ACTION." And I was sold. This is also the first game I played that had multiple endings, and they were all great.
guys i just figured out, watching those retro games reviews by josh while mild drunk is on another level of entertainment, after watching the diablo immoral review, this gives me so much appreciation for "the old times" had lots of fun playing these games
8:59 I'm exactly the same :D The only horror games I can handle are rpg maker titles (ib, the witch's house etc) and fromsoft games, anything else I'd rather watch someone else play since it's basically a movie like that.
Oh my god i miss this game so much !!!. Didn't know you did reviews of thing that weren't mmo's,watched alot of your videos but all i can say is yaaaayyy xD thank you
I remember playing it at my friends place trying to knife the t-rex.
I loved this game as a little kid, I remember playing this on my cousin's Dreamcast.
I'll be honest. If I ever had the money and build a house I would totally make 2 entrances. One would be 'normal' and one would be 'fun' and include all the stupid riddles from video games + the house itself would have a 'game mode' which locks all rooms and turns the house into a giant escape room maze
This game and DC2 were so fun to play back on the day, I hope some day Capcom release some kind of remake for those games.
Dino Crisis 1 was damn good.
Dino Crisis 2 was almost perfect.
Dino Crisis 3 was one of the worst games of all time.
Still I don't understand why they didn't contnue the series. People that know about RE games know about DC games. And they all, as do I of course, want either a sequel or a remaster.
Come on Capcom!
Capcom should have made Dino crisis 3 as resident evil 4...
I genuinely love watching these bro! It's such a great chilled experience! Please play Rugrats Search for Reptar!!! 🤣
I'd love a remake of this game. They could make the dinosaurs more accurate with feathers and stuff.
Great video, this was one of my favourite game about time travel and scientists handed you things. Wish you could make Dino crisis 2 review
I love this. Your wit, sarcasm and brief skits that don't overstay their welcome made for a very entertaining review of a classic. :)
I know Josh doesnt do this style anymore but it is enjoyable variation on the excellent reviews
-1 point = Gail meant he's wrist com, not the real radio
-1 point = Tom's gun it's a MAC11/10
+10 points = Archer meme
Game: has system for combining items.
Also Game: has a separate system for you to combine weapons with their upgrades.
Dino Crisis 2 will go down forever as my favourite game of all time in the PS1, just above Megaman Legends 2
Aw, a man of culture I see. The legends games were and still are my favorite games. The fact that 2 left on a cliffhanger and we never got a 3rd is a crime.
I remeber watching my dad play this when I was like 5/6 it traumatised me yet it still brought back nice memories
I think the most frustrating thing about this game is that it's actually easier to just run around the dinosaurs than to fight them. I mean, you don't even need to fight the T-Rex the first time you see it. Just run around for 3 minutes and Rick shows up anyway.
Oh! This must be where his was it any good videos came from! I’m excited to find out I have more to watch now! Crazy, he had only a few patrons back then especially compared to now lol
