  • When we began moving forward with diver floaters, Troy Poynter with St. Clair Guide Service was the first person we called. You will not meet a more passionate waterfowl hunter than Troy, and while he’s a great all-around waterfowl hunter, few know divers like him. We could sit here and tell you the hunts on this trip happened quickly, but that would be a bald-faced lie. We had to work for them all three days, but it was certainly worth it as we harvested a heck of a mixed bag of Canvasbacks, Redheads, Bluebills, Mallards, Pintails, Ringnecks, and Buffleheads, and we can't wait to come back next year!

    Man. I’ve been nonstop all day watching y’alls vids. Firing me up!!! Also killllin me at the same time I’m making me all sorts of jealous 😂😅 last time I took a trip to duck hunt it was a complete blowout. Went to ReelFoot lake and paid a guide good money and the Duck blind was killer Damn near the size of a double wide… had just about everything you need or could think of in there. I think if I remember the guy had a whole washing machine in there. And a very nice garage for the boats. It was basically a small stationary house boat. It was a beautiful setup, it was cold not very windy though, we didn’t see one duck fly I don’t think.. it had me and my father twisted up just so darn depressing! When we went back to the spot we were staying at, there was a pod of 13 Mallards jus sitting on the bank. All pets, we wanted to shoot ‘em so bad man. The whole trip we did not shoot a thing.

    Whoa, you guys are great hunters! All it took were a few elaborate decoys, bird calls, a sophisticated boat-blind, camouflaged clothing, and high-powered rifles with precision scopes. Those birds never saw you coming!

      We get some out of a layout doing this on big water. We get a large number interested but most flare off at 80-100yds. If the sun is directly behind us, blinding them on approach, they will decoy well. I'm guessing with a large boat blind you would want crossing wind with the sun facing them on approach. I'm guessing no matter what the finish rate would be low but a massive spread and the sun in their eyes could make it workable.

    • @divebombsquad
      @divebombsquad  6 месяцев назад

      The hunting itself does not get tiring, it’s all the work that goes on after the hunt and in between these trips. There’s a lot that goes into this operation that goes well beyond just hunting.
