You crack me up, In my state of Nebraska Tractors are a EVERYDAY THING. They drive on the HIGHWAY ALL THE TIME. And sometimes you will get lucky to hear about the BIG PROBLEMS HERE when you are listening to the scanner and you hear a call go out for a COW or SHEEP or PIG on the highway and they need to get there ASAP. Lol yep it happens ALL THE TIME!!!!! lol
lol you are so funny about the tractor lol, as ex farmers we did use the road a lot to go from fields to fields, that's total normal :) now back to finish watching your video :)
I appreciate you both sharing what makes a good event, great event, etc. I am learning lots! I love your store items! So much fun! May the next one be better!
Seeing someone act that way to attract her as someone who sees a tractor on her drive to work almost every single day is insane to me how different peoples lives can be. It’s a cool experience and until you’re running late, get stuck behind it forever.
I work for an agricultural company, in a tiny farm town. Seeing tractors on the highway is pretty, common. My boss stores his tractor in town in the warehouse till they get a barn up on the farm
I hope you're next event is better for you!! We had a Van in the middle of the farmer's market last Saturday. It didn't affect my sales thankfully, I actually had my best day since I started. I made 14× my vendor fee and sold a third of my stock
@@crochetvision Thank you! I even sold a few interactive plushies that I made free hand, it was really exciting. A police officer showed up but the van was from out of town and they couldn't contact the owner so it wasn't towed. The market uses part of a parking lot and they don't post signs saying not to park there before we set up. To be honest the coordination is lacking but I only pay $35 for the booth fee.
I did a few shows over the years. The most shocking fee was $600. I decided not to participate but I went as a shopper. The event was awful. There is no way I would even get my money back. Thank you for sharing and good luck!
It probably was a child driving a tractor. My boys all learned to drive the tractor at a young age. Heck, they were in skid loaders at age 5! The markets I have been to will charge more for credit cards and they state that. It isn't just markets, the businesses, in my area, are doing that also.
Too bad it didn’t go so well. One of the reasons I’ll never leave my full time job, I can’t rely on my crochet, the economy sucks and nobody wants to buy, lest that’s here for me anyways. A store recently asked me to sell stuff in her store, so that was cool, and already sold things too. I prefer working full time and doing crochet as part time. Sadly too, lots of people a learning to crochet and make their own stuff too.
I live in cutler bay Florida and near me is the Redlands Florida and it’s a farming area a they have tractors and they are on the road all the time. lol.
Tractors are a normalcy here where I live. The markets I usually do have cancelled for the yr except for the Christmas bizarre. I have a question what brand & color is the greenish yellow behind Ben’s head? I need it lol😊
road tractors just happen in rural places. common sight on sand mountain in alabama too lots of small small small towns (the one ive been living in only has around 1000 people. coming from a city right next to columbus ohio its .. something.
Have you done this events around the holiday's? I am wondering if you could do a kinda getting ready for a holiday/Fall event I am pretty booked for Sept & Oct and would love some tips. Do you find Fall to be a good time for vendors? Another good video how do you stop or what you look for so your not scammed. I was scammed and would love to hear tips.
what a strange event! Def audience matters! and even though its *good* you didnt make a loss, IT STILL was a loss overall. You only profited pennies if that. I do hope that furure events go better. It also may be the heat wave hot weather, ik that sounds kinda stupid but Its miserable were i live and i cant even stand outside for more then a few mins. I do wonder if when things kinda cools down a teeny bit things would be better.
@crochetvision I've been pretty worried my whole farmers market season. Only the first 2 days were decent but it just seemed to go down hill from there. The traffic seems slow and when it's heavier people are just looking
Oh my gosh 😂😂 You say the same things i do to my bf. For context i have Autism and my bf has Adhd Autism. Sometimes his hyperness aggitates my sensory overload and im like "Boy IMMA SELL YOU!" 😂😂😂 We Love monsters in our house so Watermelon is a staple here! The ASD makes us so drained and exhausted so we kinda run on energydrinks 💀 ik its bad but we try to only stick to sugar free and cleaner drinks like Ghosts and C4. ❤ Yall are so fun
More and more vendors and small businesses are asking clients to pay in cash, because if you cumulate all the small fees, it becomes a substantial amount at the end of the year. Those small businesses explain why. However, most still offer the card option though.
I would love to pick your business brain, some things are a bit confusing 😞 I love NY and can't imagine living anywhere else but dang we r getting out of control expensive 😭 and we have road driving trackers on the east end of Long island 😂
Unfortunately I've heard that before at Winery's. A couple other people I have watched on your tube said the Winery venues are fantastic but not many sales...
Did other vendors say why they aren’t taking credit cards? Would assume it has nothing to do with taxes and avoiding to pay taxes…never say never we though! My take on no credit cards would be because people are “buying” then disputing charges. I don’t know how easy it is for a business to fight this but I would expect there’s a reason some won’t do credit cards. I would also put out there, if you are taking credit cards charge that fee back to the customer. All of my household bills have extra fees if I pay with a credit card…so do the same. My car repair place charges an additional 5ish percent to pay with a CC. They have a sign that says “save 5% if you pay with cash”…you can sure bet I show up with cash!! I know this might be a small amount of cash, but any cash saved is worth it to me.
I don't know how large this last event was but my husband and I go to a place called Boxwood Farms that has small events over the summer and fall and he advertises the event as 'cash preferred' I have no opinion of cash or card, we keep cash in the car for farm stands and what not so we always have cash and card. But if it's an event like this and venders prefer cash, thats something that should be advertised.
would you ever sell on live auction app because there is an app called whatnot and as long as you ship out the stuff people buy from you i think you can make good profit and you can choose how long you live auction for , would you be interested in trying apps like whatnot to sell your stuff on ?
I'd consider it. I just found out about the app. But I feel like i'd still have to drive my own traffic and at that point I feel like I'd be better off being on youtube or tiktok live and sending people to my website.
@@crochetvision on whatnot people have made stuff while they are live of what they are selling , its just i watched one of your youtube lives before and i think it would be better for you if you made money while you were live and you could still be working on other projects, its just an idea

It’s so foreign to me
I love your market set-up! You are so talented!
Thank you💕
Awesome video.
Thank you!💕
Lol You must be a city girl. We drive tractors on the roads all the time.🎉🎉
Yeah I’m originally from ny

It still blows my mind every time I see it. I’m not used to it.
Totally agree about including all your costs
That's hilarious, we have tractors on the road here all the time in the south, it doesn't even phase us anymore 🤣🤣
I’m really not used to it yet 😂
Hahaha in Mississippi the tractors own the road 🤣
Never on Long Island 😂😂
LOL Tractors in the road are almost daily here in planting and harvest season! I live in farm country (Kenyon MN)
You’re lucky he’s doing 30 🇬🇧 they usually do 12mph and have a mile long queue behind as it’s so wide you can’t overtake
😂😂😂 no
Fingers crossed your next event goes so well that it makes up for this one, too!
Thank you for sharing the numbers on costs & profits! This was really helpful for understanding the business side, I'm always curious.
I’m glad it helped!

That's how it is here but 750
I’ve done $700 shows and it was worth it. But most definitely do research before going!
Im usually late to work because im stuck behind a tractor at 5 am. I forget its not common everywhere.😂

I love your channel. How long will Ben be gone? You did a beautiful job on the sign.
Thank you! Can’t say how long! Thats a part of the “mission” 💕

Honestly they should. I agree with that 100%
your yarn wall behind look awesome
Thank you!
I feel bad for you. Next market will be much better😀👍
We still had a fun day! Next one will be better!
I know the zoom from a nursery rhymes x
i hope your next market that for awesome vidoes and awsome channel
Thank you so much 💕💕
I had an accident on the way to one. I called a few hours late. But I let them know.
Oh no!
😂😂😂 Tractors like this are a regular in mid Missouri.
I’m not used to it 😂

I've noticed that sales are really down with us too
I think everyone is getting nervous thisnyear

No one is buying right now sadly. The last event we went to, the lady that ran it said it happens every election year it is like this.
It really does
