What I love about Erin is that she doesn’t just stab once or twice, no she goes for the KILL. Old and even newer slasher movies, the main character only stabs the murderer until they THINK they are dead. Like what Zzavid says “evil don’t die easily.”
I swear whoever came up with this movie must have got tired of final girls just surviving by the skin of their teetg lol they wanted someone who knew what they were doing.
The mom is Barbara Crampton - she was in some iconic ‘80s and ‘90s horror movies like Re-Animator, From Beyond, Chopping Mall, and Castle Freak. Awesome lady! Also, the sister’s bf is played by Ti West! He wrote and directed the recent films X and Pearl, starring Mia Goth, as well as The House of the Devil :)
Erin is awesome. She knows what to do in a serious situation based on her own life. Every innocent character was smart but are mostly in shock. The mom was in shock and was killed but knew something was wrong. The dad was investigating and before he died knew someone was in on it from the family. The daughter was smart running to find help because aiming in the dark is harder then waiting for someone to be Infront of the window. The older brother was confused and couldn't deal with his girlfriends death and you could see how hurt he was from his brothers betrayal.
what makes you think the dad knew someone from the family was in on it? he definitely knew when he was dying looking his son in the eye thats for sure.
The neighbor banging the chick in the beginning is Larry Fessenden, who is a great, long time horror actor and director, but most people might know him for writing the game Until Dawn and playing the stranger on the mountain. Check out "Jugface", a great indie southern gothic horror he acts in.
Hi Imon, if you like watching horror movies with really good female characters like Erin, I think one that you would really enjoy is "The Descent" (from 2005). It is pretty scary and follows a group of women who go on a cave spelunking trip!
This freaking movie is awesome I saw it in theaters day one by far one of my favorite movies one hell of a plot twist to it I'm glad you enjoyed the blender scene it was quite interesting the best part of the movie the first kill of one of the bad guys by our final girl
Erin is definatley not a pshycophat even though she extremly brutaly murderd 6 people like way more than would constitute necesary selfdefense. Also she got a cop killed so she is going to jail for manslaughter. Yay.
I'm not sure if you've seen it before, but 2018's Hereditary is a pretty scary movie if you need more movies to watch- *You're Next* is definitely spooky for sure, gives you lots of paranoia and startles, great reaction as always!
comin from a 35 year old man with a gf of 7 years,,,i think the mom in this movie is really Hot lol and my gf didn't blame me haha. I dont know some people are just so beautiful and have a certain look about them. That actress that played the mother is super beautiful, something mesmerizing about her. I saw this movie in theaters and it was on edge of your seat whole time type of a movie. Great reaction to this :D

Perhaps I'm alone here, by usually with horror movies (Or I guess really any form of entertainment) I enjoy them by simply absorbing what I see happen. It's just not in my nature to go out of my way to criticize things. And besides, I find like critique and analysis to be boring.

Well a reaction is usually supposed to be a first time thing, because you want to see the person's initial reaction. A commentary is different, Trin Lovell does some funny ones.
Watch The Hunt! It also has a strong heroine who's skills and background are slowly revealed. And it has some worthwhile political and social statements.
This is what I’m realizing lol. I’m not as scared as I used to be because there was a point where Chucky was too much for me lol. But I’ve been able to get through these movies pretty well and I’m finding I actually love the stories in each of these movies so much.

I believe you are ready for arguably the best genre of horror, cosmic horror, extraterrestrials, monsters from outer space!!!!! That's the good shit, you will be witnessing some of the wettest puppets every committed to cinema in this genre (not to mention the horrifying implications of mankind confronting the existential dread of an unknown universe filled with disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence, wooooooooo).
Chucky!? The Chucky franchise is basically comedy, especially by this point. Imon, you gotta give it a second watch. They just started season 2 of the show and it's fantastic. They're big on continuity, but I think reading a synopsis would be enough to get you ready. :)
