I honestly don't know how much of it is a character any more. Maybe in the beginning. I started watching him and then realized his schtick was all about the drama and crying and bitching randomly about nothing. And his back and forth break-up/stay together with his husband got really old. The two of them seemed really happy in the beginning. When they would visit other countries and do videos like a sushi bar, and that was actually really interesting, especially, since some people will never get to travel outside the US. If he had stuck to videos like that I think he could have still been successful. But I think he must have always struggled with food, and now it's an addiction. I don't think he can function as a regular adult with a regular stable job/income. He needs the drama and the food because he wouldn't know what to do otherwise. He's using all that to fill the voids.

I honestly don't know how much of it is a character any more. Maybe in the beginning. I started watching him and then realized his schtick was all about the drama and crying and bitching randomly about nothing. And his back and forth break-up/stay together with his husband got really old. The two of them seemed really happy in the beginning. When they would visit other countries and do videos like a sushi bar, and that was actually really interesting, especially, since some people will never get to travel outside the US. If he had stuck to videos like that I think he could have still been successful. But I think he must have always struggled with food, and now it's an addiction. I don't think he can function as a regular adult with a regular stable job/income. He needs the drama and the food because he wouldn't know what to do otherwise. He's using all that to fill the voids.
