- In spring, or I guess technically in the fall of 2018, Amy and I and our friend Ty travelled to Cape Town, South Africa to learn to sail.
We would start by going through the RYA Competent Crew Course followed by the Royal Yachmaster Association Dayskipper course which took place in Soldhana Bay. We had looked at Yachtmaster Sailing School in Cape Town for many years and finally we got the chance to join the fun. Yachmaster Sailing School is a top spot located in the renowned Royal Cape Yacht Club. The extensive courses include a lot of rope skills, sailing exercises and a decent amount of theory learning to navigate and much more.
During our trip we had a few precious days off where we would visit the South African Winelands around Franschoeck and we took a fantastic roadtrip touring the Western Cape. We got to see the African Jackass Penguins at Boulder Bay Beach, visit the West Coast National Park and of course explore what Cape Town has to offer. We especially enjoyed the spectacular Cape Town Aquarium.

The cinematography is stunning! Thanks for capturing such an interesting time in such a beautiful place. Look forward to more.
Starting with no experience in sailing, or tying knots, you are crazy to attempt to sail through unfamiliar water, with a captain who has zero confidence in you! How much more crazy could one be! I love it :) I'm glad to see that you survive to report it :)
Ha ha so are we. Well we had a lot of trust in the captain at least
